Tulle skirts were everywhere last fall and winter, and these ballet-inspired skirts are the perfect trend to rock this spring, too!

I just finished sewing up a DIY version of this grown-up and classy tutu, and have been brainstorming about how to wear it. I thought I'd share some of my favorite outfit ideas, in case you're looking for cute ways to jump on the tulle skirt bandwagon.

Here are three affordable and campus-friendly ways to wear a tulle skirt:

Polished and Preppy

You can't get more girly than this sweet pairing of a pink-and-blue plaid button-down and a cream-colored lace and tulle skirt. This preppy combo was a blogger-favorite last fall, but the pastel hues make it perfect for spring, too. A glitzy statement necklace and peach accessories add a dose of glam and an extra pop of color.

Casual Chic

A black-and-white tee with a black tulle mini skirt is such a chic and effortless pairing. Add a coral anorak for a light layer and some fresh color. Leopard print flats let you mix prints, but still keep the look simple and classic.

Floral and Frilly

tulle skirt, floral top, denim jacket

Product Info: Skirt, Top, Jacket, Clutch, Sandals

This pretty pink skirt is begging to be paired with some florals, but you could also switch out the floral top for a graphic tee like this one for a dressed-down version that would be equally as cute. The light wash jean jacket tones down the look, while a black cut-out bag gives it a little edge.
