Easy Outfit Formulas: Moto Jacket + Fitted Skirt

You know those days – the ones where you roll out of bed (after hitting the snooze button too many times), stumble into your closet, and have no idea what to wear? Our new series, Easy Outfit Formulas, is here to help! Every other week, I’ll feature two items (which you probably already own) that can be paired into outfits for those days when you need some quick and easy inspiration.

This week, we’re talking about an Easy Outfit Formula that’s perfect for a cool and trendy college fashionista: moto jackets and fitted skirts. A black moto jacket is a classic and versatile piece every girl should invest in (if leather isn’t your thing, try a faux leather, denim, or knit version). Fitted skirts are equally versatile – try a pencil skirt for work, a mini for play, and add tights for cold weather.

Whether your style is edgy, classic, or feminine, this combo is for you! Scroll down to see three cute outfits that incorporate a fitted skirt and moto jacket:

Urban Chic

This versatile ensemble could work for class or a casual night out. Just start with a geometric print body-con skirt and a lightweight hoodie, then layer on your favorite moto jacket. Black wedge sneakers add a chic and trendy touch, but if they’re not your style, try a pair of classic white sneakers instead. Add some metallic accessories for a clean and modern look. A pop of blue nail polish is the perfect finishing touch!

Cozy for Class

This next look is the perfect mix of fall textures: cozy knits and (faux) leather. Start with a mixed-material moto jacket – this one has knit sleeves in a cool geometric print. Pair it with a simple fitted black skirt, such as a mini or pencil skirt. Keep yourself nice and warm with some brown knit tights, a burgundy scarf, and a white beanie. Finish off the outfit with a pair of black cutout booties and cute fox earrings.

Effortless Glam

This last combo packs a lot of chic into an easy going-out look. Pair a sleek black moto jacket with a sequin mini skirt, layering a neutral graphic tee underneath. Keep your jewelry simple but edgy with something like this set of spiked rings. For your feet, add a pair of killer cutout heels. Don’t overdo it with your beauty routine – a topknot and red lipstick are perfect for an effortless street-style vibe.
