Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
Something about cold weather always makes me want to bust out the sequins and sparkles. Maybe it’s the longer evenings that beg for a little shine, or maybe I just want to look like a snowflake. Whatever the reason, I firmly believe sequined pieces are must-owns for the winter season.
Since we’re in the spirit of showing you how to look cute while battling the cold, this week, I’ll be showing you how to style a black sequined sweater for both a day of classes and a night out. Read on for more!
Sequin Sweater: Class
Think sequins can’t work for daytime? I assure you they can – you just need to style them correctly.
Start by pairing your sparkly sweater with plum colored jeans. The unexpected pop of color creates a little daytime glamor, but doesn’t look over-the-top. Accessorize with trendy spiked and skull-shaped bangles, and add a unique touch with a pair of oxblood flower-shaped studs. Keep the rest of your look simple, adding basic black ballet flats (topped with a bow) and a matching black bag.
Sequin Sweater: Night Out
Get glammed out for night and pair your sweater with a trendy peplum skirt in an oxblood hue. (Can you tell I’m obsessed with this color?) Add edge (and some serious height) with a pair of gold cut-out pumps. Sophisticated accessories like a beige and gold envelope clutch and black drop earrings help balance out the look. Top it all off with a set of fun, stackable rings, and you’ll truly be queen for a night.
