There’s nothing better than trends that are stylish and functional, which is why I’m so happy puffer vests seem like they’re here to stay. From blogs to street style, people everywhere are hopping on the vest bandwagon – with good reason! You get to stay warm while keeping full use of your arms, plus they’re an easy way to add color, pattern, and texture to your favorite winter outfits.
The good news is these vests are no longer only for the sporty, outdoorsy type. Lots of trendy fast-fashion stores sell puffer vests now, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to find one to match your style and your budget. Although they’re casual enough for a day of classes or meetings, the right outfit and accessories can help dress up your outerwear for a date night or an evening out with your girlfriends.
Below, I’ll be showing you a casual and a dressier way to style a puffer vest, so if you’re interested in staying warm and chic this winter, read on!
Puffer Vest: Class
I love the muted gray color and subtle pattern on this quilted puffer vest. For a fun daytime look, I wanted something colorful, so I started with a lovely, deep purple skater skirt. Next, add a soft blue sweater, which keeps the outfit’s silhouette simple. Gray tights will keep you warm, while lace-up boots are cute and comfortable.
The bright colors of the sweater and skirt speak for themselves, so a dainty silver necklace is all the jewelry you’ll need. Throw on your vest and you’re ready to go!
Puffer Vest: Night Out
This outfit is similar to the one above, but a few subtle changes make this look perfect for a date or a girls’ night out. Start by swapping out the sweater for a cozy gray sweatshirt. Dress the look up with this Marsala-colored faux-leather skater skirt and heeled booties. (I’m slightly obsessed with the bows on these shoes!)
I love the color of this light blue statement necklace and the matching cross-body purse. All you need now is your vest and some pretty stacked bracelets to complete your look.
Do you still shy away from the puffer vest trend, or are you sold on making this outerwear fashionable? Would you wear either of the outfits above? How would you style a vest like this? Let me know; I’d love to hear from you!
