Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
After being featured by designers like Balmain, Miu Miu, Preen, and Burberry Prorsum, pink is definitely one of the top color trends for Spring 2014.
For this post, I wanted to feature an adorable and summer-appropriate bright pink dress, and show you how I would style the piece for both class and a night out. Both looks focus on thoughtful color combinations and dazzling accessories – scroll down to see the outfits!
Little Pink Dress: Class
I love the idea of rocking a bright, flowy dress with a feminine pair of sneakers for a casual classroom ensemble. Here, we paired the dress with tropical print Keds. I know these Kate Spade Keds are a bit of a splurge for a pair of sneakers, but they are just too cute. Plus, the pink in the print of the shoes plays perfectly off the dress.
Keep the color play going by accessorizing with a red beaded statement necklace to complement the sneakers. Carry your essentials in a slouchy, off-white woven tote that matches the summery, slightly tropical vibe found throughout the look. Add one last pop of color with an orange nail polish, then finish with a shimmery pink lip gloss.
Little Pink Dress: Night Out
Pink and green is such a classically preppy combination, and the pairing is ideal for a warm summer night. On your next night out, try wearing a pink dress with bright green accessories, such as this pastel green statement necklace and elegant bangle. You can even incorporate green into your footwear – we’re loving these chic heeled sandals.
Keep the focus on this awesome summer color combo by carrying a neutral clutch with gold hardware. Your beauty look will complement the outfit perfectly when you use a gold highlighter on your eyes, cheekbones, and cupids bow, and paint on a soft bubblegum pink lip.
What do you think of pink? Would you wear a bright pink dress? To class? For a night out? How would you style this pink dress? Let me know what you think of the outfits in the comments, and tell me what other pieces you’d like to see featured on Class to Night Out!
