Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
Summer always brings out the more patriotic side of me, and what is more classic and American than a good gingham print? Gingham is always around during the summertime, and this season, it’s even more popular due to the graphic prints, patterns, and checks that were featured on the runways of Diane von Furstenberg, Ralph Lauren, and Zimmerman.
This print can be found in its original, Mad Men-esque form, or in a more modern and trendy style. Either way, you’re bound to find a gingham print that you like! In this post, I’ll be showing you how to style a breezy, summery gingham print dress for both class and a night out. Scroll down to see the looks:
Gingham Dress: Class
Pair this classic black-and-white gingham dress with modern pieces for a stylish and chic daytime look. The white mesh espadrille flats are on-trend this season, while a denim jacket lends a casual and summery feel to the dress.
Add a little sparkle by wearing a circle pendant necklace and a gemstone bangle, then carry all of your necessities in a muted blue faux leather carryall. Lastly, keep your beauty routine low-key with a red-orange tinted lip balm.
Gingham Dress: Night Out
This dress works perfectly for a lovely summer date or night out on the town when paired with gold heeled sandals, a matching cross-body bag, and gold jewelry. These dainty bangles and adorable star stud earrings add even more shimmer to the ensemble without looking over-the-top.
Finish the look with a classic bright red lip and a matching nail color for a slightly retro feel. The classic combination of red, black, and white has that vintage look, but the golden accessories keep the outfit looking glam and youthful.
