With fall just around the corner, it’s time to give our favorite summer trends one last hurrah. I’ve been a huge fan of printed bottoms all season, but my favorites by far are floral shorts. Ultra-girly with a retro vibe, what’s not to love?
In honor of the end of summer, this week I’ll be showing you two ways to style a pair of high-waisted floral shorts – one look for day, one look for night.
Floral Shorts: Class
I don’t know about you guys, but where I live, there’s already a fall chill in the air. Gotta love that first hint of sweater weather! To combat any signs of cold, pair your shorts with a basic gray knit, adding a pop of color with a light mint scarf. Start the fall semester off on a studious note with a two-toned canvas backpack. Accessorize with simple, feminine jewelry, like heart-shaped studs and gold and pearl bangles to accent your shorts. Finally, complete the look with braided gold sandals.
Floral Shorts: Night Out
Go boho-chic with your night look, pairing your shorts with a beige lace bandeau worn under a white crochet crop top. The high waist of the shorts will keep you looking trendy but put together, even with a super short top. Add a splash of color with a neon cross-body bag, and accessorize with butterfly studs and a spiked bracelet. This mix of girly and edgy will give you a wild, contrasting look that’s perfect for a night out. Complete the look with a pair of summery orange wedges.
What do you think?
