Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
During winter, I try to feel as cozy as possible. Though I love a comfortable outfit any time of the year, the colder temperature especially makes me want to dress as comfortably as possible.
To me, the best outfits are comfy and stylish. That's why flannel shirts are so great -- they look as good as they feel. I'll show you how to wear one casually for class and dressed up for a night out.
Flannel Shirt: Class
Pair your flannel shirt with some comfortable leggings for the ultimate lazy (but still fashionable) outfit. Most flannel shirts are long enough to still give you some coverage if you're worried about modesty while you're wearing your leggings.
Add some simple slip-on sneakers to match the casual feel of this look. A cross body bag is a good choice for everyday. It can work for class since it's easy to wear if you carry a separate backpack. Lastly, slip on an understated chevron necklace for a trendy touch.
Flannel Shirt: Night Out
Plaid shirts are typically paired with pants, but I love the unique look of one with a skirt. For a dressy vibe, tuck your flannel shirt into a skater skirt. Add some tights and classic booties for warmth and style.
A tailored pea coat will keep you warm, while a patent leather clutch with a bow is a flirty but simple enough to avoid clashing with your shirt. Finally, a pretty statement necklace in a matching color adds some glam to your outfit.
