Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books, and it’s known for representing the glitz and merriment of the 1920s. Along with cloche hats and t-strap shoes, one of the most famous styles from this decade is the drop waist dress. Since we just did an article on 1920s fashion a couple weeks back, I thought it was the perfect time to bring back this fun item.
Below, I’ll show you how to style this flirty dress for class and a night out.
Drop Waist Dress: Class
The print on this dress is a little beachy, so I paired it with a straw tote bag that’s perfect for carrying your books to class. I also added a shell necklace and crocheted kimono for a bohemian vibe. Lastly, wear a pair of simple tan sandals to complete your summer-ready look.
Drop Waist Dress: Night Out
To really embrace the ’20s, wear your dress with a beaded headband and bag. Put on some dark red lipstick for some glam. Add a simple blazer for a modern touch. Finally, throw on a pair of matching t-strap heels. You’ll look as dazzling as Daisy Buchanan!
What do you think?
