Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
Cropped tops have been a recurring theme on runways for several seasons now, and they’re set to be hotter than ever in 2014. Believe it or not, they can be totally wearable in both warmer and cooler weather. Crop tops can be tricky to style appropriately for the daytime, but it can be done. You don’t have to look like you’re going to the beach or on a date when you wear this trend – we promise.
In this post I’ll be showing you how to style a simple white crop tank for both classes and a night out. Read on to learn how to style this tricky trend appropriately:
Cropped Top: Class
Create a pulled-together look for class by pairing a white crop with a pair of super high-rise dark wash skinny jeans. This will ensure that you still get the trendy feel of a crop top without showing any midriff in class. A coral-colored waterfall cardigan adds a pop of color to the look , while pointed-toe nude flats with a gold ankle strap elongate the legs and give a hint of shine.
Carry all of your books in a colorful, abstract floral tote with pops of coral that tie in with the cardigan. Accessorize with a double-layered necklace to add a hint of boho to the ensemble. Your complexion will look springy and fresh with a powder pink blush and coral lipstick, while gold nail polish makes fingertips an accessory of their own.
Cropped Top: Night Out
Go sleek and stylish on a night out by pairing this cropped tank with an asymmetrical hem wrap skirt in a bold magenta hue. This black-and-white floral print blazer with pink piping adds a dose of pattern and keeps things polished. Accessorize with a pink enamel chain link bangle for another touch of shocking pink.
A pair of heeled sandals and a shiny holographic clutch finish the look off wonderfully. This ensemble will look incredibly cool with baby pink tinted lips and cheeks, as well as some fluttery eyelashes. Keep with the cheery vibe of this look by painting your nails a light mint color.
