Vest from DKNY Jeans
Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
Vests are one of my favorite things to wear when the weather starts to get a little chillier, and there are so many styles and silhouettes to choose from. I’m particularly loving the blanket and cape styles that are making an appearance this season. A cozy, sweater-like vest is the perfect way to channel this trend without having to go all out.
Although it may seem tricky, vests can easily go from day to night. It’s all about pairing your vest with the right clothing and accessories to make it appropriate for either class or a fun night out on the town. Read on for tips on styling a cozy knit vest for both day and night:
Cozy Draped Vest: Class
This off-white, draped-front sweater vest looks chic for class when paired with funky printed skinny jeans. Pairing a black, long-sleeved top with a relaxed fit under the vest will keep you warm and comfortable while playing off the colors in the pattern of the jeans. Carry a ladylike tote in a rich burgundy hue to add another coordinated pop of color to the ensemble.
Black pointed-toe flats are simple and chic, and keep the vest and pants the center of attention. A tassel necklace in a brushed gold adds just the right amount of shine. Keep your beauty routine simple by hydrating your lips with a rose-colored tinted lip balm. Can’t you just see yourself strolling to class, pumpkin spice latte in hand, wearing this fall ensemble?
Cozy Draped Vest: Night Out
This vest is given a luxe, boho-chic vibe for nighttime when paired with all the right accessories. A long sleeved, body-conscious dress in a beautiful plum color is the perfect backdrop for this cozy sweater vest, while cut-out heeled booties with shiny studded buckle details gives the ensemble a more boho feel.
Adding stacked gold bangles and a box clutch featuring a gold snakeskin finish lends some glamour to the outfit. Finish this look with a gorgeous dark plum statement lip.
