Cold Shoulder Top: Free People
Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
From dresses to boots, unique cutouts have become a fashion must-have. However, it can be hard to style cutouts of any kind during the colder winter months, and that's where the cold shoulder blouse comes in. These tops are a clever way to rock this look and still stay (for the most part) warm, which makes them my favorite option when I want to sport the cutout trend.
There are so many different variations of the cold shoulder top in stores right now, and many of them allow you to wear long sleeves while still showing a little skin... in an appropriate fashion, of course! This makes the trend wearable year-round, and is a surefire way to spice up your look.
Keep reading and I'll show you how to style a cold shoulder top for both class and a night out.
Cold Shoulder Top: Class
Dress to impress with this outfit that will keep you both comfortable and trendy! For a casual class-appropriate look, I would pair this oversize cold shoulder tee with some black leggings and a gray open front cardigan. (Yes, you're mostly covering the cutouts, but they will peek through a bit around your collar and still look appropriate for class.)
Give the ensemble a bit of an edge with a pair of black combat-style boots and a black-and-white cheetah print tote. Lastly, lend some color to this outfit with a purple scarf, then paint your lips and nails in Pantone's Color of the Year, radiant orchid.
Cold Shoulder Top: Night Out
Infuse some edginess to this relaxed cold shoulder top for a night out by adding a pair of shiny coated pants with an exposed zipper. Black heeled ankle booties keep the ensemble looking clean, trendy, and pulled-together. Accessories make the outfit, so add a chunky black statement necklace and a shimmery black wrap bracelet. A hologram crossbody bag is an easy way to make a statement and keep all of your night out essentials together.
This chic, effortless night out look would look great paired with big bold eyelashes and a shimmery, glossy pink lip. Sometimes keeping everything simple and easy is the best way to stand out!
