Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. Class to Night Out focuses on one piece per week, and aims to help you take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
Oh, did you think I meant leopard print? Well, think again! We’ve already sung the praises of animal graphic sweaters this season, so if you’re an animal lover, why not add a dress into the mix? Cat dresses may make you feel a bit like you’re playing dress-up, but even the cutesiest dresses can still look chic and mature. A cat dress is the ultimate in quirky, ultra-feminine fashion… and I think even Zooey Deschanel might be jealous of this one.
This week, I’ll be showing you how to style a black “cat face” dress for both a day of class and a night out. Read on – you know you’re curious!
Cat Dress: Class
Dress, Blazer, Brogues, Bag, Tights, Earrings
Pair your dress with a bright yellow blazer for a bold daytime ensemble. The crisp blazer adds a tailored, sophisticated definition to your look, so you won’t look like a little girl playing dress up. Add texture and edge with a pair of fun patterned tights, but keep the rest of your accessories simple. Try simple black stud earrings and a grey messenger bag. Complete this show-stopping outfit with a pair of metallic gold brogues – because who says shimmer is only for night?
Cat Dress: Night Out
Dress, Pumps, Bag, Bangles, Earrings
Keep your night look fun but glamorous by trying out a pair of velvet pumps. I absolutely adore these deep plum heels from H&M! Gold, black and leopard print bangles emphasize the “catty” element of the look, while black drop earrings keep things sophisticated. Add a retro-inspired quilted cross-body bag, and you’re all set!
Your thoughts?
Would you wear a graphic cat dress? How would you style it? Be sure to let me know what you think of the outfits in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
*_* Oh my Gosh, this is cat dress is simply perfect. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and it’s so adorable! I am loving how you styled the dress in your “Night Out” set. The velvet pumps and the quilted clutch pairs so well! I am so tempted to get this dress now…. hehe.
adorable, but the first is still too dressy for class. sneakers and less sparkly earrings (normal studs) would probably help tone it down, or maybe a cardigan and penny loafers.
Don’t know how I feel about how sheer that top looks. I think I’d want something more than that cat covering the girls.
Really nice blazer, love it!
What sort of bra are you supposed to wear with this dress??
omg that’s soooo cute 😀 i absolutely need one
I love cats and things with cats on them, but I’m not sure how I feel about this dress yet. I guess I’d have to see a photo of someone actually wearing it to decide.
OK I think the cute kitties are probably too young for me but great for a student. I love that yellow blazer. I think I might snap it up right now!
