It’s not every day you see a perfectly clean and crisp white backpack, so it's easy to see why JC's look caught my eye. (If you’ve ever had all-white Converse that you tried to keep clean, I think you’ll understand what I’m talking about.)
You can tell how comfortable JC is in his outfit. It's minimal, but completely put-together and a fantastic representation of college student street style.

Let’s Talk Fashion
Who or what inspires your style? “I would say when I see everyday people and just the local people here, [that] help[s] inspire me, and because I do dance it helps inspire my outfits and sense of style. But I think I definitely get most of my inspiration from the hip-hop music scene.”
How would you describe your sense of style? "I would say it’s a good mix of high fashion and streetwear. I would say my outfits are pretty monochromatic. I really just like being in an outfit that you can easily go to work in, then go hang out with [your] friends in.”
What are your favorite trends right now? “Distressed denim for sure, bomber jackets, and really just anything minimal or monochromatic."
If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “I would definitely raid Cole Sprouse’s closet. It’s very simple but well put together and honestly I love his photography. That or TheLineUp Menswear on YouTube. I love their essentials and I feel I have a similar taste with them for brands.”
Where do you like to shop? "Locally I like to shop at Oak + Fort, American Apparel, Club Monaco, and Nordstrom. I really like Adidas for sneakers because they’re really starting to step up their game compared to Nike."
What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “Have your basics. That’s my biggest piece of advice. If you have a good pair of jeans, you can easily mix and match what you already have."
Elements of JC’s Outfit
1. Grey Sneakers
Adidas is definitely making a strong comeback with their new collections and collaborations. These particular grey kicks are popping up everywhere on Instagram and seem to always be sold out. Nice score, JC!
2. Navy Blue Bandana
Bandanas and chokers, alongside many other '90s trends, are coming back strong and stores such as Urban Outfitters are selling them for ten dollars. For us college students on a budget, JC has the right idea; he bought his navy bandana at the Dollar Store.
3. Ripped Jeans
Ripped jeans are crazy popular this year and wearing them can definitely help make an outfit become a little more street style. I love ripped jeans on guys - they're such a cool look that more men should embrace.
