Hailey is a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities studying business and marketing with an emphasis on fashion. Currently juggling school and an internship with a fashion company called Salt Resort Wear here in London, Hailey is the queen of thrifting and especially loves the abundance of vintage stores that Camden Town has to offer. Her outfit is the definition of city girl on-the-go, which she often is!

Let’s Talk Fashion
Who or what inspires your style? “I have such a range. Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorites, but sometimes I feel a bit edgy and love the inspiration that comes from mixing styles.”
How would you describe your sense of style?
“Like I previously said, dainty and classy – but when I can, I like to be edgy and [it] honestly depends on the day. It is fun to choose from the ’40s and today.”
Why did you choose this particular outfit? “It was a bit chilly today so I felt like the scarf and turtleneck were appropriate, but also the sun was out so the sunglasses and the ripped jeans felt like they balanced it out.”
What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “Wear what you want! How you feel that day doesn’t have to define your style.”
What are your favorite trends right now?
“I am really loving basics. I love a dark lip with a white or black pairing.”
What do you do for fun – do you have any unique hobbies or interests?
“I love to run and I love to knit! Sometimes I feel like a grandma but my friends are also the world to me. Fashion and photos are also always a go-to.”
If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why?
“Honestly, I would go back in time and steal Audrey Hepburn’s wardrobe. She was the daintiest and classiest and if I could take her clothes and transform them [for] 2016, I would!”
Elements of Hailey’s Outfit
1. Pointed-toe Boots
These types of shoes are on-trend right now and we love their simplicity and versatility. Hailey paired her black leather pointed-toe shoes (that she got for $10!) with some dark wash ripped jeans. I love that they have a vintage, slightly distressed vibe to them.
Hailey is wearing a burnt orange turtleneck, which screams autumn, to add some color and warmth under her leather jacket. Turtlenecks are super in at the moment so I would suggest grabbing one whenever you have a chance!
