The beginning of fall means change: changing leaves, cooler weather and most importantly, the change to fall footwear. If you’re a CF reader, chances are nothing makes you happier than boot shopping in the fall, so strap on your best shopping shoes and go find yourself some of this season’s trendy statement ankle booties!

When we talk statement ankle booties, we’re referring to styles that incorporate bright colors or unique patterns – think bright red, leopard print, or cobalt blue suede. These shoes are the perfect way to add a pop of interest to any ensemble.

In addition, ankle boots are absolutely perfect for fall and winter. High heeled versions are perfect for crisp weather before snow begins to fall, and flat versions brighten up any cold-weather look. The street style looks above show how they are easy to incorporate into any outfit.

These eye-catching ankle booties are plastered all over fashion magazines and the streets of Los Angeles right now. The question is…will you don a pair of your own?

YES, I definitely would wear statement booties! I’m currently shopping around for a pair of heeled oxford-style booties as well as a pair with a wedge heel, they’re so easy to walk in and add instant oomph to any outfit….speaking of outfits, this one is HOT :)

Love the outfit you put together! I don’t so much like the wedge styles, but the heeled booties (especially the blue) are fantastic.

I love ankle boots, especially wedged ankle boots. I think they are a perfect look for straight legged jeans and skirts.

Love this look! My favorite ones are the cobalt blue from the first picture. I don’t think I’ll be getting any though- I’m trying to stock up on more ‘classic’ items (although I can’t imagine ever NOT wanting to wear blue shoes!).

I’m apparently in the minority because I do not like ankle booties at all! I find them really unflattering. Who knows, though, I may turn around. I use to hate skinny jeans/pants and now I own three pairs. I also use to hate the romper and now I own one. I love the outfit you came up with though!

Can you guys show us more ways to style statement booties likethose? I have my heart set on a few pairs of cheetah prints ones and black ones, but I’m terrified to wear them to school in case I look ridiculous or trip and fall. :’( I loooooooooove fashion and heels, but I always feel like people are rolling their eyes at me when I wear stuff that’s a little more out there.

Thanks for this article! I just adore this site! It’s so great for a 17 year old in college! :D

Love booties! x3 There’s actually a pair I’ve had my eyes on for a while, but I can’t get them . . . no shopping allowed for at least the rest of the month unless I’m thrifting. And I can’t even do that because Value Village and the other thrift stores that are decent are all close to super adorable boutiques that would eat my wallet if I had even less restraint than the little I do have. :’(

I have a pair of ankle booties but I haven’t been able to figure out how to wear them with more outfits. I love them, but I am so confused by them because they are not my normal attire. This definitely helped!

I’ve been on the hunt for some leopard oxford booties. They would be oh-so fierce with a dash of class. Thanks for the inspiration!

I don’t like heels, but if we could find me some of these in a flat, or low-heel, I would wear them every single day!! So cute!

I love the statement ankle booties! But I’m very pick with the ones I choose, because some of them can chop my legs off if the cut isn’t angled downward. I’m really into the wedged booties right now. I like the leopard print ones, but I feel like I’ve seen them everywhere all season so I don’t want to buy a pair like that anymore.

Agree with Irish Belle. Booties usually look okay when matched with a dress/tunic and tights (of the same color) or long [wider-leg] pants; otherwise they seem to shorten the silhouette and make people look stumpy(?) or just choppy. Maybe taller girls can get away with it. I need to add height not take it away…

Oh yes, I love ankle booties and bright colors. I don’t do animal prints, platforms, or heels that are too high or too skinny. They must still look bootish! My favorite are the mustard booties in your sample.
