Would You Wear… Mini Wedges?

The acceptable height for shoes has varied drastically over this past year. Stilettos and sky-high platforms have been in style for ages now, but the mid-range heights of kitten heels and flatforms have had surprising influence in the fashion world. This week, we explain the art and intrigue of the mini-wedge.
The mini-wedge, or kitten wedge, is a very low wedge-heeled shoe. These shoes add a bit of height to your look and are flattering with a range of outfits. Whether you’re in a strappy sundress or cropped jeans, mini-wedges are going to work for your benefit!
Although I keep hearing, “go big or go home!” in reference to this footwear choice, I think the benefits of having a cute shoe with height and comfort is truly something to appreciate.
We found some budget-friendly mini-wedges for our fabulous readers…

totally! why wouldn’t i? they are cute and add a lil extra height – i know i need that haha :)
Melissa
I would and I do! Mainly because I am 5’6 already without heels and I also cannot walk in heels lol
Kelly
I love shoes like this! They make me feel like I have added height, but without the pain and blisters that high heels give me!
Kate
Yeah I definitely would, they are comfortable, cute and add a little extra height! Perfect for summer :)
Andrea
Meh, I find them somewhat uncomfortable. I’m a flats person.
maxine
Nope, since I tried to put in my big feet in there and it never fits.:(
Katy
I have a pair from Target that look just like the blue Delia’s option, and they are SO much more comfortable than flat sandals! The little extra lift adds some support which is great. I wear them so much I’ve worn the wedge down a bunch.
Emily
I apparently have a few pairs of what I thought were “flats” that look like these, so I guess I’m already wearing them. Most of mine are kind of old, though, so I don’t think it’s really a new trend.
Anna
So cute! I’m 5’9 so flats, kitten heels and mini wedges are my way to feel glam without being six feet tall!
Carrie
I’m with Emily, I would consider those to be flats if you didn’t call them out as “mini-wedges”. That said, I’d wear them :)
miah
i had no idea there was a such thing as a “mini wedge.” i totally thought those were flats until today haha.
Blair
Yes! I love wedges in all heights they are so much more comfortable than heels! I tend to wear more classic designs but those ones are nice too! They are perfect for class without being too dressy!
Tori
These look like flats to me- I love that navy blue pair. Depending on the style, I’d probably wear them- I’m not a big fan of actual wedges, but these are more like flats so I kinda love them!
Allison
I love mini wedges! They’re a lot more casual than regular heels, but they give me some extra height (I’m 5 feet so I need it!).
Molly
Mini-wedges = adore
I have a blue lacy-leather slingback pair with a peep toe I scored from a yardsale with my Granny. I had nicknamed them my orthopedic wonder-shoes before I saw other people wearing them.
They’re great to toss on with shorts, a long cardi, plain t and sunhat for spring/summer, and aI cant wait to see what I can do to transition them to fall! A chill stepping-stone between casual and classy
Shay Monet
I always just considered these flats lol.
Liz
I love mini-wedges. You still get some of the effects of heels (pushed up butt, better posture, ect :P) but mini-wedges are comfortable enough for walking around in all day. I got a pair of red suede ones from Target actually.
diva_114
I love them! Have on some now!
Alycia
LOVE these! I’m 5’7 1/2″ in bare feet, so wearing high heels always makes me feel like some kind of tree. Yay for these cute little things! I will be looking out for something like this the next time I’m in the mall, for sure.
Shelby
Yes, I have some “mini-wedges” and I wear them!.These are adorable and functional! also, btw 2″ heels are actually better for your posture than flats.
Paola
Yes!!! I dislike heels & mini-wedges work great for me :D I purchased a few days ago an adorable pair of Poetic License “Magical Sunset” inch & a half wedges that kind of look like flats :) I like that you can sneak in and inch or two without people noticing :P & you can be comfy and slightly more formal :D They’re the answer to my prayers :) And I too, hate when people say “go big or go home.” I’ll like to see their feet in 20yrs!
Allison
Cute, versatile, flattering for all heights AND comfy…what’s not to love?
Mia
These mini-wedges are adorable! Yes to mini-wedges, No to kitten heels (the 1″ heels)

I’m a fan! I don’t wear heels so they’re a cute alternative.
Tobeinstyle
Why not? A little extra height, and a lot of extra cuteness. Why not? :)
Elena
love ‘em! i live in them as much as possible!
Kristina
I love mini wedges and have several pairs! Being on the tall side, I don’t always want to wear typical wedges because sometimes I just don’t feel like being that tall, but some pants are just too long to wear with flat sandals and look better with a small wedge. Thats where mini wedges are perfect. They are also very comfortable and easy to walk in. I love them with wide leg jeans and cropped jeans, but they also look cute with skirts or dresses. Basically, they can go with anything!
Kimberly
I have a few pairs of mini wedges and I LOVE THEM! I’m not even five feet tall, so I don’t really like wearing any shoes that are too high because well… it’s awkward and uncomfortable. But this option is so amazing. Lace up mini wedges are my next obsession!
Leanne
The mini wedge is exactly my thing. I want a bit of a lift when wearing jeans but don’t want to topple over. You can buy a pair in summer and chances are you can wear them for fall too. Very versatile. I’d like to find some in colored leathers though, like purple or shamrock green.
Kellan
Yes! I have some mini wedge black peep toes and they go with everything! theyre also really comfy compared to high heels, I wear them to party’s and out shopping and my feet aren’t killing me at the end of the day like they would be in normal heels.
Love these shoes!
Cortney
I have so many pairs of these already! Although mine are definitely older. Fashion always recycles and all that. :)
jenn
i just bought sandals with tassles from american eagle with a little wedge! they hurt a little but are so cute!
Sam
Looooove them! I’ve had a black patent leather strappy pair for like two years! They’re great for a day to night transition in almost any outfit!
S
I love them. They’re good for walking around campus.
Sarah
I have some of these! But I love all wedges :) They’re super comfy and cute!
Rin
Absolutely! These are my go-to for teaching, since I’m on my feet all day long. It gives me some height, but doesn’t kill my feet.
Noémie
Absolutely! It’s a nice little detail that make your usual sandals or flats look a bit dressier. I’m a fan!
Elizabeth
I love them! I have a pair of nice sandals with a mini wedge. They’re comfortable, and add height to my 5’4″ frame. In the South, all we wear are sandals because of the heat.
Mallory Weeman
hey that’s me in the middle picture!! haha, my jaw literally just dropped!
Kayla
Huh, I have a pair of black flats that have a little wedge on the bottom. Never really thought about it before….
Holly
YES!!!!!!!!!! They are cute and chic without looking like you’re trying too hard.
