Would You Wear… Leopard Print Jeans?
Leopard print is coming back for fall in a fresh new way. Instead of being bold, it’s chic and muted… and adorning your favorite pair of jeans. Celebs have been seen rocking Current/Elliott’s popular stiletto skinnies (seen on Isla Fisher, Mandy Moore and Katie Holmes above), and they’re not the only ones! On the FIDM campus, muted leopard jeans are making a huge statement right now.
These jeans will dress up your favorite comfy flats or worn-in tee for daytime, or stand out with pumps for drinks with the girls. Many of us are intimidated by wearing leopard print, but the muted tones of these jeans make the print much more versatile.
Current/Elliotts may be out of the average college student’s budget, but here’s an example of how to wear some less-expensive leopard jeans…

I’ve been wearing my leopard print jeans since March! They aren’t muted down, they are the standard black with tan. I love them! Not for the faint of heart, though. I got lots of weird looks and comments.

Never owned leopard print jeans but I do have some pretty ‘loud’ pink plaid ones which I used to wear (they’re too big for me now). Loved them and wore them with pride :D
Alicia
No.

These remind me of the pants/leggings Janice on Friends always wore! In fact, I’m pretty sure I had a pair of leopard print bellbottoms from Limited Too when I was in 4th grade, haha~ I think I’d try them :)
Victoria
I wouldn’t wear them–I think they’re adorable in the pictures above but can so easily be read as “trashy” by others–something I’m really not interest in being percieved as. I’ll stick with my leopard print belt, cardigan, or flats!

Considering that I have owned leopard print jeans for over two years, including one pair that is hot pink and lime green in color, I’d say yes. Yes I would wear them xD
Leah
I didn’t used to like leopard print. I do now, but in small doses. I’ll wear some shoes, or a scarf, or something else with a little leopard on it, but I don’t think I could do pants. I have a leopard print tank top but I never wear it alone, I wear something else with it to balance it.
Jo
I love animal prints… They are certainly not for everybody! But anyone who can rock those… WOW!
Christine
I also didn’t like animal prints, but now I love leopard print on flats and pumps. :3 I guess I would at least try wearing them, but I’d definitely stand out. I haven’t seen anyone on campus wear leopard print jeans.
Mina
Maybe for Halloween, but definitely not for everyday.

I like those Current/Elliott’s jeans, and I especially like the way Isla Fisher is wearing them. I am not sure about the outfit you put together though. To me it seems like the shoes and necklace together are too loud for the leopard print jeans. I would probably also wear some sort of oversized clutch instead of a shoulder bag, but it’s just my take on this trend.

I actually have had a pair for about 3 years now. They’re very loud. They’re a med. blue w/ dark brown glittered spots. But I’ve gotten compliments on them. Regardless, I love animal print, so I’d wear them anyway haha. I’ve only worn them when I’ve gone out though. So for now, it’d just be a gno or date night look for me. :)

Meh… I’ve started to gravitate towards buying pieces that I can have for a long time, so I feel like this is one of those hypertrendy things I won’t get much use out of. It might be because they reminds me of the “scene” trend that I’m trying to forget I tried, but I don’t really get the appeal.

I think Gap has a better pair, very muted, and I think they might be cheetah but they’re so cute. I’d never go wtih the tan and black. the gray seems to go with everything and much easier to pull off.
Amanda
I would deff try the gray jeans! Like the one on the girl on the far far left. :) Adorable!!!

I got a pair of leopard shorts and love them! I think I definitely want to try these jeans. Way too cute! I like the bold print in shorts, but for jeans I think the muted would be better especially for fall & winter months. Great post!

When I first saw the title of this post, I was like HECK NO! But Isla Fisher, Mandy Moore, and Katie Holmes make them look fantastic and totally do-able in real life. I’d like to say I’d try them, but I don’t know where I would wear them or what I’d wear them with.
Danielle
I would wear a leopard print scarf or top, but I’m not sure I could rock leopard print jeans. I enjoyed the post though!
March
I like leopard print very much. I prefer the grey version of it.
Kellan
Never. no way. tacky
Vanessa
cheetah is the new black~~~ can’t wait for these to trickle down to H&M and/or F21, where I can actually afford them.
Katie
Nope, I’d never wear any pants with a pattern on them. At 5’5″, 145 lbs, and an hourglass figure, patterns on the bottom only make my bottom half look curvier than it already is.
Kelsey
OMG I’ve been wanting those Current/Elliott jeans soooo bad!!! And now I seriously need them! I couldn’t care less if other people don’t like them, I love leopard print and I know it can look really chic. It’s all in the styling! I’m seaching for some cheaper options literally right now :P
Camila
I guess it looks good if it is very subtle
Jazzy
I’m so glad this was posted because I just picked up some leopard print jeans yesterday! I was super skeptical because obviously these are out of the ordinary.. but the ones I bought fit really good. Got them at TJ Maxx and I can’t wait to start making some new outfits!
Jennifer
I would, but it seems like they’re in a style of jean that doesn’t really flatter my shape. As much as I love super skinnies, I cannot wear them.

Leopard skinny jeans are making a good come back. While being regarded as kitsch by some, it still retains a good following especially among celebrities who seem to rock with either flats or heels. It is indeed intimidating for many people (the wild cat really is intimidating) but designers finally found a creative way to tone them down. Many women clothing boutiques these days have a wide array of leopard print jeans of different varieties. Since it is becoming hype once again, it will not be quieted down too easily.

OMG I used to own a pair of these and got made fun of so bad for wearing them . . . they were like my fave pair of pants . . .
Kristina
Absolutely love them!! I bought a pair of regular dark blue skinny jeans with a faint leopard print throughout them, and I looove them. They have just the right amount of subtle leopard. But I would definitely buy a bolder pair! They had some at Forever 21, and it was a very reasonable price.
Jess
I love leopard print! I used to think it was tacky but recently I changed my mind. I would defiantly wear these, I like the ones with the grey tinge better though.
Anna
never! way too tacky, like my personal fashion nightmare !
Erin
i have a pair of grey zebra print jeans, i have never worn them because as soon as my friends saw them they died laughing. Now I might have to try them :)
B
yes!!!!!!!!!! looking for a pair at a decent price >_< hopefully under 60…
Ashley
Lol, one of my close friends has been wearing leopard print jeans since, I think, early last winter! I can’t remember exactly when she got them, but I’m pretty sure it was before Christmas, so yeah. She looks damn good in them, too. Me, on the other hand . . . I don’t wear pants, and I’m not sure I’d want to shoot for a print like leopard. Not my style.
