I never thought this would happen but I'm in love! It looks fantastic with a cream mini dress over tights and boots. It does work best with simple clothing and just like others have said it looks very fashionable; not outdated at all. Velvet is a very heavy fabric, and a bit more “dressy”
I suggest wearing velveteen instead, you’ll get almost the same look (without the bulk) and you can dress it up or down.

And it can sometimes look like little girls' clothes.
