Would You Wear… Head-to-Toe Oxblood?

As you probably already know, oxblood is among fall’s hottest color trends. Already appearing in stores, this merlot-toned hue will soon be everywhere…. but would you rock it from head to toe?
Numerous designers, including Christian Siriano and Nanette Lepore, suggested you do just that, showcasing bold, monochromatic oxblood looks in their fall collections. Utilizing multi-textured pieces ranging from leather tops to velour skirts, the designers proved that monochromatic doesn’t have to mean boring – in fact, rich shades like oxblood give the monochrome look a luxurious appeal.
How does this luxe color translate into real life? It’s not easy to wear a head-to-toe oxblood outfit, however the look can be super stylish when done properly. If you’re uneasy about it, though, just add an oxblood piece to your wardrobe here or there.
Our favorite oxblood finds from across the web…

I love the color, but I think wearing entirely oxblood is slightly much… xD I’d mix it up, making against some denim or black, so I don’t look like a walking blood clot. :P
If I were to wear it monochromatic, I’d mix it up with patterns and textures. Maybe a lacy top or something. :)
klarika
what is oxblood? isnt that burgundy? i cant see the difference here..
Leigh
I WOULD I WOULD!!!!! Happily and without remorse I would wear it. Weeee this is one of my favorite colors.

I don’t think I’m down with wearing all Oxblood, but I really do want to purchase a pair of oxblood pants. They would look awesome with a lot of tops! :)
Nadja
I know there was this trend to wear head-to-toe mono-color years ago. Now it looks lind of boring and too set-up to make each piece fit others. I’m all for effortless chic!

Rachel Parcel just did a post about this!

Yes! Yes I would.
I think this color is gorgeous. I really want a sweater in oxblood, but I’m having trouble finding one.

This is one of my favourite colours, but head-to-toe is a bit much…
Agnetha
Definitely! And already have! I have an overload of oxblood coloured peices now, haha!
my favorites are a lace see-through top in that colour (with a black bra, if course) with some oxblood skinny jeans, from Lindex :)
Shelby
Since this is my favorite color, I most certainly would!
Beck
Just bought oxblood jeans this morning! I’m wearing them now :)

@Hero bahahahahha walking bloodclot, couldn’t have said it better myself!(: I like one piece at a time(:

Nope. I don’t like Oxblood at all. It doesn’t do anything for my skin tone, and I feel no pressure to wear something I don’t like just because it’s “in” this season. If I don’t love it, I don’t wear it! More power to all those that do love it, though!

I have always loved dark reds. Maroon, Burgundy, Cherry, Fuchsia, Ruby and Oxblood. I love the idea of wearing the it head to toe.
I just always wish that there were more links to where I could purchase the clothes like the ones listed in the CF articles. I am a law student and money is tight because school is so expensive. More options would mean that one might be within my small budget.

Love the Nanette Lepore look. I feel like the skater skirt, lace top, and deep color all play into the Baroque trend, too.
Alina
Oxblood is a gorgeous color, but wearing it head to toe is a bit too much! Though I do love the oxblood jeans.

Bahahaha. When I went to high school our uniform was oxblood. Not head to toe mibd you, but when a whole school wears it, trust me its over kill. Love the colour though, not as bold as red.
Nicole
I think that’s a great idea all oxblood!
Gracie
I agree with Klarika, that’s just a made-up name for burgundy lol I would only wear it as a dress but not an entire outfit in that color.
Katy
I think I could work it, as long as there’s no velvet/velveteen involved. I’d at least like a dress in the color.
Catie
I recently found an leather, oxblood jacket at a thrift store and I can not wait to wear it. I think head to toe oxblood is awesome! Definitely looking for more oxblood pieces to add to my wardrobe! :)
Amber
Love it! My uni colors are garnet and black, and it is always sooo hard to find (cute) things in that color so anytime i find something I snatch it right up. Oxblood is identical so I am in heaven.
