Want to go on a vacation to paradise but can’t afford it? Try incorporating some Hawaiian prints into your wardrobe. You’ll get that tropical feel without even having to leave home!

Before you call me crazy, hear me out: this print has come a long way from the tacky button-up shirts that are usually associated with tourists. Updated Hawaiian prints have been making appearances on runways and storefronts this spring and summer and it’s the quintessential print for warm weather and a laid-back vibe.

If you’re still having visions of tacky tourists, check out the following stylish outfits that use Hawaiian prints:

Yes!! The dress I wore to my quince is hawaiian print! I think it’s fabulous, it’s just always hard to find an occasion to wear it. Really, it’s just a matter of wearing it wisely: small doses, patterns that aren’t too busy, etc. I love the outfits you picked too. For the girls more hesitant, they can just think of it as a variation on the floral trend. :)

When I first saw the title I immediately pictured old men with button down Hawaiin print shirts, haha. The looks you’ve put together are really cute and wearable though. I especially love that dress.

Honestly, I’m not a fan, probably because I just think the style is ugly. I know that probably sounds harsh, but we all have our different styles, right? Kudos to all the ladies who love it and rock it – I guess Hawaiian is to me what Ugg boots and sweats are to Zephyr, lol :) Thanks for the article though, it was interesting to read!

I think a summer dress is the best way to wear it. You can add cardigans or belts to spice it up!

That jewelery reminds me of some of Persona’s beads (http://www.personaworld.com). I like the tied top with pants but I don’t think I could pull off the red dress at any event but a luau :P

Really like the first outfit (I can’t go shopping though, no money left boohoo), not too sure about the second one though. Keep it coming ! :-)

While I can’t help but picture my father in a Hawaiian shirt with a hula skirt when I hear the words “Hawaiian print” I’m head over heels for that first dress!

I can’t get past Hawaiian print because my father spends every summer living in those tacky tourist shorts…ugh. Fashion is definitely not genetic.

I personally love Hawaiian prints. Even those that wear the touristy shirts, I find it adorable. At least, they give off the vibe of “good spirits” and “fun”. And, I give them anoher + as they can care less about their rep and what ppl will say.

I loved both outfits but the first one is very gorgeous!

I’m afraid not… I find Hawaiian prints annoying, never have liked them never will. It might have something to do with the fact they are so utterly SUMMER (my most hated season, yes ladies I hate summer *gasp*) and they remind me of all the other clothes I cant stand (say flip flops and sandals of any kind)

I think Hawaiian print is so cute! I especially love that Asos dress, and the shirt from the first outfit.

I bought that Tiki Ring on spring break while in Hawai’i so I especially love the fact that you thought it was adorable too!

Personally, I feel there are two types of Hawaiian print: the kind an overweight bumbling tourist would wear and the really cute kind that make you want to go to a luau. The first outfit takes the bumbling tourist print and creates a cute style … but I’d say stay away from it. The bright colors in the second one make it fun; it really pops, and in a good way.

I’ve always been seriously in love with hawaiian prints! I even have a hawaiian phrase tattoo. So this isn’t even a trend for me but a wardrobe staple for summer!

The look of the orange dress is similar to the top that I bought from Old Navy:) This trend is what I love about paradise:)
