Would You Wear? – Fleece Jeans

Pur Fleece Jeans

I just heard about an interesting new fashion trend and wanted to get your take on it. This will be a regular feature here at CF – I’ll give you a trend and you tell me what you think. Sound good?

Here’s the deal: Pur Fleece Jeans. They look just like normal jeans – the cut, the fit, the style, everything. Except, oh yeah, they’re made out of cozy fleece!

Are these the perfect thing for those early-morning exam days or what?

The jeans pictured on the left are Pur’s Scarlett Cigarette Cut Fleece Sweats – available at Emoda.com for $215, a pretty steep price for a pair of fleece pants. But with every expensive denim brand comes the designer knockoff – I’m willing to bet it’s only a matter of time before these show up at a Forever 21 near you.

What do you think of this fashion invention? I love the idea of fleece jeans because they combine the best of both worlds. You get the comfort of a pair of sweats but the flattering cut and look of jeans. Sweatpants in class just might be okay with me if more people wore these…

What do you think?

Are you with me in thinking these are a fabulous invention or not? But most importantly, would you wear them?

I want to hear your opinions in the comments section!

Omg, these sound AMAZING. If they were cheaper, I’d get a few pairs!

At first I like.. okay, fleece jeans, I don’t think so! But they are actually quite charming… love em’ and would wear them. But I’m agreeing with @maggie.. definitely pricey.

They are pricey but I might wear them. They might fit funny because of the different material so I would not buy them unless I could try them on first.

Ok I officially love this website. I saw these jeans on a picture of Selena Gomez and spent like 30 minutes trying to find them to no avail and then here they are!

Sadly these jeans are not in my budget.

They would have to be cheaper than denim for me to even touch them because fleece is an incredibly cheap material. And what’s the point of wearing PJ material pants that look like jeans anyway? Aren’t you the one that always says wearing PJ pants to class is tacky?

I would totally get a pair or two if someone came out with a cheaper version. super cute!

:/ I’ve had a few of these a ago.. Vintage shops eh?
Anyways, I never really liked em’ much, sadly.
    They’re okay though.

This is amazing – I love wearing jeans but not all the time i think wearing fleece pants or fleece jeans would be amazing and so comfortable.
I love the style just not the price.
    Oh forever 21!

These pants leave me confused and scratching my head. I don’t think I’d wear them.

I don’t think I’d wear them either. Just wear jeans.

    January 6th, 2009 at 10:10 pm

    I don’t think so… they don’t sound very flattering to me…

I actually saw them for the first time at Mandees this weekend and i thought they were really pretty lol….i didnt get a chance to look at the price though, but it was probably really cheap since they were at mandees.

they’re like jeans imported from Brazil. The jeans there are super stretchy and comfortable and fits every curve of your body, but they’re still jeans!

i’ll pick up a pair of these.

    January 6th, 2009 at 10:28 pm

hmm….. looks ok but i would wear it…

  15. 15
    January 6th, 2009 at 10:34 pm

They’re probably not very flattering. I might wear then if they somehow did not make my thighs poof out and if the material is smooth/ doesn’t look too much like a sweater.

Only if I lived someplace that is really cold. I don’t think these would fly in Phoenix…you’d sweat your butt off (although that may not be all bad either). ; )

They look cute and possibly very comfy. I think $215 for a pair of fleece pants is indeed a bit pricey but if they were less expensive, I would definitely try them on. I’m always looking for other cute but casual pants besides jeans to switch things up sometimes.

I’m all about trying new trends and this one doesn’t sound too crazy. Okay fleece looking jeans? I’d try it, probably love it because anything comfortable in class is abuse and wear over and over again. Thumbs up!!

I don’t think I would ever wear a pair of fleece jeans. Jeans are jeans and sweats are sweats. They should never be mixed.

Honestly I don’t think jeans are uncomfortable enough to warrant this invention …

    January 7th, 2009 at 12:38 am

I agree with Cindy, jeans are so comfortable! and I don’t know I think I would feel like if I was in my pj’s of something… besides I think my big latina hips would look way bigger in those… so I don’t think so.. or at least not for me…

  22. 22
    January 7th, 2009 at 12:48 am

I definitely would! I like the cut and I can’t wait to try them (:

  23. 23
    January 7th, 2009 at 1:56 am

I want them to hit cheap stores now so i can try them. They seem to solve that problem of jeans getting baggy around the butt and knees

    January 7th, 2009 at 5:10 am

I love the look of the jeans and Pur is a fantastic brand- but don’t your legs overheat with skinny jeans made out of fleece?

  25. 25
    January 7th, 2009 at 7:09 am

This is a FANTASTIC idea! Whenever I travel somewhere really cold in winter I layer tights under my jeans. This would solve that issue! I think this will catch on for the fashion minded that don’t want to wear sweatpants yet refuse to sacrifice warmth!

  26. 26
    January 7th, 2009 at 8:37 am

Don’t know if I would wear them.. They’re rather expensive and I wonder how they would look with other materials.. Maybe it’s no problem combining them with knits and shirts, but I think it might look a bit funny. They’re okay though. If they were (a lot!) cheaper I’d buy them and wear them on lazy saturdays. (And everytime the temperature gets below -10. That makes me think, they are the ideal ice-skating outfit!)

  27. 27
    January 7th, 2009 at 10:57 am

Sure, they might look good on the 110lb model pictured here, but one reason that jeans are flattering is that they have a sort of firming effect. The fabric doesn’t bunch and holds you all in. I doubt they’d look good on normal people.

Jeans aren’t uncomfortable anyway. If it’s really cold, wear tights underneath. (Even better if the jeans have a small rip and they show through just a pinch.)

  28. 28
    January 7th, 2009 at 11:59 am

These would be good for those cold, lazy winter mornings. I hope Forever 21 does come out with a cheaper version.

  29. 29
    January 7th, 2009 at 12:05 pm

The problem with fleece is that it pills and wears out easily, so I’d be afraid that after a few washings, my expensive fake jeans would look like like an old sweater. :P

    January 7th, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Yep i would rock those….and last weekend i went shopping at dd’s discounts and saw the knock offs they did not look as good as that pic does

  31. 31
    January 7th, 2009 at 3:28 pm

They seem and sound like they would be extremely comfortable. $215 is a little outrageous though for us college students or any normal living person.

    January 7th, 2009 at 4:14 pm

This is a FANTASTIC invention! Perfect for those cold days when jeans just aren’t enough! These are definitely worth waiting around until a reasonable price comes along. Just hope they fit me well! I definitely thinks fleece pajamas are a NO NO, but that is because they LOOK like pajamas. They’re baggy and frumpy. These are absolutely nothing like regular fleece pants! They look hot!

  33. 33
    January 7th, 2009 at 9:18 pm

They look like they could be cute! At first thought I was sure I wouldn’t like these since I am absolutely in love with denim but if I had a chance to try these on I think I might like them. They would probably be a nice change from cold denim in the winter!

  34. 34
    January 7th, 2009 at 11:41 pm

I’d try these! They look cute, and I love fleece because it’s so warm. The only thing that has me kind of annoyed is that fleece is cheap and made out of plastic…so why is it $200+? Argh!

  35. 35
    January 8th, 2009 at 1:38 am

Looks great but i think price should be around $100.

    Jenny:
Are you implying people 110lb and under are abnormal?
I weigh an even 100 and have minimal curves but I still think these fleece “creations” would bunch and sag on me something awful. Notice the model probably didnt have to move around in those things.

  37. 37
    January 8th, 2009 at 9:49 pm

i live in Canada and i wear fleece long underwear under my jeans to keep warm this time of year, so this would be an amazing solution!! Would def need to try them on first though, since they would not fit like denim

  38. 38
    January 8th, 2009 at 11:19 pm

Uhm… wow. This is a new one for me. I’d have to see how they feel. Fleece is very easy to destroy in the wash.

  39. 39
    January 8th, 2009 at 11:22 pm

hmmm…fleece. i wouldn’t start pairing material that i wear to the gym with heels. but they sure do sound comfy! just not sure how fleece will look skin tight on women w/ legs that AREN’T shaped liked lil boys. but a cute oversized shirt could look really cute with that and hide women who are self conscious about their legs. where there’s a will…there’s a way! now just make em cheaper!!

    yeah, i´d totaly wear them.

    January 12th, 2009 at 10:53 am

AJ – Sorry if my comment sounded brash, but considering the average person weighs more than that, technically yes – 100lb-ish people tend to be abnormal. That doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong with you (unless you’re underweight, which would be the case for most people). But that wasn’t my point.

My point was to remind those of us that AREN’T that small to think about how it would fit us, since we almost never look like the models pictured. Tight fleece pants? Probably not going to be flattering. And as you pointed out, it probably won’t even work on the smallest of us either!

this is an AWESOME idea! so cool. i do wonder if they would be flattering, though?

    January 15th, 2009 at 6:53 pm

no it s like wearing jeans shoes or a jeans head band or even worst a jeans hand bag i mean WHY? there’s a reason why jeans are jeans so i’d rather keep it that way

I own fleece jeans that I bought awhile ago for under $80. They are the most amazing pants I ever owned. So comfortable-better than any lycra pant, leggings, PJs. These are pricey, but if I had no choice I’d buy them because every time I find amazing pants, they’re discontinued. These are pants you can live in, dress up or down, etc. Off to search for cheaper ones…..

I HAVE A PAIR OF THESE and they are absolutely my favorite thing I own. I wear them so much. I got mine on sale at Wet Seal for only $14.99. They have the style of jeans but the comfort of fleece. GENIUS!
