Would You Wear… Flat Espadrilles?

If you’re looking for a hot trend in casual summer footwear, flat espadrilles are the look of the moment. Although these shoes may be a reminder of footwear you wore as a child, they are now making their way into women’s wardrobes all over.

You may be used to seeing espadrilles as wedges and platforms, but at the moment they are most popular in flat form. Personally, I love this style – these shoes are totally versatile; they look fantastic with shorts, skirts or fun dresses. They are also super casual and ideal for running around in the summer.  Just imagine how perfect they would be for playing frisbee (can’t do that in heels) or cheering on your favorite baseball team.

A spunky summer outfit with flat espadrilles…

Product Information: Top – Topshop, Skirt – Delia’s, Bandeau – Tilly’s, Flats – Endless, Bag – Macy’s, Sunglasses – Topshop

I love espadrilles! I’m from Cali, so it feels like they’re a summer essential. I have two pairs. One pair are flat with navy and white stripes. I wear them with white shorts, or when I go to the lake for the day. My other espadrilles are wedges. I bought them cuz they were adorable, but didn’t wear them for like a year. Now I wear them with pretty much everything. They’re perfect when I don’t know which shoes to wear on a casual day/night.

These are EVERYwhere in the UK at the moment! They do come in lots of nice colours, but I’m not sure if I will be wearing them, they have been done to death a bit already, and from what I’ve seen they go scruffy quite quickly!
I do like the outfit you have put together though! I’d probably wear brown leather sandals rather than the espadrilles though :)

I love that outfit! The shoes are somewhat cute, and they’d be good for a day at the pool/beach or a backyard BBQ, but not something I’d wear anywhere else. I think there are classier options for casual footwear. They’re a step up from flipflops, but they remind me of the shoes my mother wears…

The outfit is soooo precious –
I also love that you made the name of the store the link.
It helps ’cause I know 99% of the time that I can’t afford topshop, so I don’t bother going to it lol.

I like the skirt and top, but I think they would look much nicer with my black leather sandals. A nice little edge to the outfit :) Although I really can’t get on board with the bandeau bra thing. Bras should not be seen, just like underwear.

I’ve been wearing them for a couple of years now. I’m glad they’re popular now because I can find all sorts! I love the lace ones that have been coming out lately.

It took me some time to get used to the look of them, but I really like them now! There are lots of them in H&M (really cute, and also good for those who can’t afford Topshop), I bought a navy-themed pair the other day.

We love this outfit!! Perfect for a casual day in the sun or a night with friends. And we agree, flat espadrilles are are nice in between shoe… Classier than flip flops but more casual than flats. Can’t wait to try this look out.

LOVE flat espadrilles. I was just in London a few weekends ago and saw them everywhereee, and got a white pair for myself! I’ve been wearing them nonstop ever since.

The only reason I think I wouldn’t wear these shoes is because they’re becoming so popular so quickly, and instead of a cute, original and vaguely boho-looking pair of flats, to me, it’s just another crazy trend in my school. Which bothers me cause I’ve had a pair for a year before everyone else did, and now instead of “I’m an fashion-forward leader” it’s “I’m a follower and may or may not only be wearing these because they’re popular.” You know?
But I love the look of these shoes, and they’re crazy comfortable.

They look like hobo shoes to me. I don’t like how worn in they appear. As much as everyone is raving about them, maybe I should give them a try? Idk, I’ve been trying to aim for better quality shoes because I’ve found (hindsight kind of conclusion) they fit better and feel better on my feet.
