Would You Wear… Chevron Stripes?

After being told for years that horizontal stripes widen and vertical stripes slim, I am left pondering where chevron stripes fit in! This dramatic diagonal pattern has been a hot trend lately, seen all over fashion blogs and the streets. Since chevron stripes are so eye-catching, the pattern makes for strong statement pieces.

The chevron stripe could be fun to pair with other prints like florals or wear alone as an outfit focal point. I think this fresh pattern makes for a a perfect summer vibe – so maybe try it on a swimsuit or beach bag!

Do you like chevron stripes?

Leave a comment and let’s talk about it!  Could you see yourself wearing this pattern?  Would you wear it on a funky bikini or a pretty dress? Do you think smaller stripes are cuter or are larger stripes more your style?

Cute! I would definitely try this trend. When it comes to the streetstyle photos I love the top in the right hand picture, I think I like the thin stripes best. But that dress on the left is also pretty. :)

I have a green and black chevron-striped top already and I think the print is very slimming. I love it on skirts especially!

I just bought a chevron printed shirt from White House Black Market, not really in the college girl’s budget, but it was so adorable I had to get it! It’s smaller stripes though, which I think are more flattering.

They look cute! Much more flattering than your basic horizontal stripes, this can look good no matter what size you’re wearing.

As much as chevrons from art class make me cringe, I love the pattern! I’d wear every piece!

I’d def wear chevron in small doses, like the black tights or a cute graphic tank, but I think the maxi skirt looks a little overwhelming.

I love the Chevron stripes! I would definitely wear them, though I do think the thin ones would be a lot more flattering on my body.

@Paxton–I love WHBM! The clothes are amazing and last forever! I’ve still got items I bought there when I was 16 and they’re still in really good condition (I’m 22 now).

Totally! Im liking the smaller stripes bc the bigger stripes just seems too bold for me. I’d wear the maxi skirt with a solid v-tank.
