Would You Wear… Bird Print?

Birds of a feather flock together, and this spring textile trend has really taken flight. Bird print garments are everywhere you look - over the past season or two, rompers, dresses, skirts, and flowing tops have been adorned with adorable birds, and you’ve probably seen them in your favorite stores!
The bird print trend began on the runways, seen at Carolina Herrera (below-left), Jil Stuart (below-middle), Suno, Reed Krakoff, and Marc Jacobs. Now it’s practically nesting in every college girl’s closet.
So what do you think?
Would you wear bird print? If yes, how would you wear it? If no, why not? Is this look feminine and sweet, or just silly? Do you own any bird print items? Leave a comment below and let us know!

I literally JUST bought a bird print dress when I was in Italy! I was so excited when I saw it because it’s like nothing I have in my closet. But then I remember how many times I’ve been attacked by birds (multiple of those times being during my trip to Italy. haha. Oh well, I guess it’s a good souvenir to remind me of my trip :]

I LOVE bird print. I have a bird print cami and a few different bird necklaces and I can’t get enough of them!
Marissa
Totally. :) I don’t own any bird-print clothes yet, but I think it would be great as a big, splashy, bright-colored skirt. And I’ve had a couple of yards of silk with electric blue parrots on it sitting in my fabric stash for years just waiting to be made into a 60s-style shift dress…

So, so cute! I remember being obsessed with the Miu Miu sparrow shoes a couple years ago. I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for a cute bird-print dress.
Melissa
I think I would definitely wear it! I like the feminine look of it, very innocent. I don’t know if I would wear it on a dress, but definitely a top or a scarf. Can’t wait to find a piece like this :)
Lish
Definitely!! As I’m writing this, I’m wearing a teal bird print dress, a bird cage necklace, and art deco-y owl earrings. I own a bird print skirt, too (it used to be a dress from Wal-Mart, but it fit weird so I took a sewing machine to it) and a friend has a couple bird print things I covet. I’m slightly obsessed, but I love birds XD
Demmy
I would so wear that prints. It’s really cute but it depends on the style though.
Kirsten
I am wearing a bird print top now :)
Marisa
It’s so summery! Perfect for spring and summer :)
Vanessa
Very different. I’m not sure if I’m brave enough. GULP!
Liz
I don’t think so – like you said, it’s been around for a season or two but it’s been overdone while it’s been “in”. Too trite now!
Elaine
totally!!!! it’s super cute!!! :) I already have one blouse with that print and I love it!!!
Camille
I would definetly wear bird print! It’s such a fun, whimsical print that is perfect for spring, whether it be on a flirty skirt or fun romper. I know the Material Girl line by Madonna has a really cute bird print dress that has really cute cut-out on the side. I featured on my blog not too long ago because it was so cute!
Marin
Absolutely! I have a beautiful bird print skirt that I bought from Lulu’s that I’ve worn several times already. Love it!
Leira Zetroc
This feels very Miu Miu…and I think it’s a fun quirky kind of print, but I’m afraid it might look too “trendy” …?
Dani
Hmmm… my sister and I “share” a bird-print cardigan, but neither of us ever wears it… might be time for me to steal it back!
Elyse
I love this idea! It reminds me of a skirt I have printed with squirrels…from far away it looks abstract, but it’s actually hundreds of squirrels! Maybe I’ll try the trend with birds next ^.^
Silvia
Yes I would totally wear the bird print. In small doses.
Maya
Oh my GOD, yes. I don’t think I’ve seen it before, it’s lovely. Feminine, still can be a little bold. I like it.
Beck
I would totally wear bird print! I’ve been planning to buy a bird print dress for summer :)
C
I would definitely wear this print! It’s feminine and super stylish! I would definitely wear a romper or shirt with this print! Great post :)
amanda
I just wore a bird print scarf today! Love it!
Kristin
The first comment takes the cake! That was exactly what I thought when I first saw it. Anyway, I love bird print, and have already bought a bird print dress for spring.
Alex
Just bought a bird print dress from H&M…it’s going to be awesome during summer =)
Kristina
Love bird print!! I have a bird print cardigan, bird print scarf and a bird print crop top :)
Sarah
I just wore my brand new bird print dress yesterday and I love it! I love birds and bird print, so I will definitely be wearing it in the upcoming months!
Cara
I’ve been wanting something, preferably a dress, in bird print for probably a year and a half now, but I do worry about it becoming too prevalent this coming summer to be worth it. Maybe I’ll buy one and save it until the fad is past and I can be accused of wearing it only because I like it.
Julia
I love! Reminds me of the Hunger Games :)
Ashley
I love bird prints. I bought a sweater last year that’s light pink with a black bird print which was followed by a blazer and then a skirt. I wear a lot of birds, too many probably. I have a thing for let’s say whimsical prints in general.
Cierra
Sure. I’d definitely go for a smaller print of them. Small enough that you’d have to be a certain distance in front of me to be able to tell what they were. Seems pretty cute.
Felicia
Yes!! I freaking love prints
Isa
YES! Bird print is adorable!
Carla
So cute, I’d wear that :)
Annie
Bird prints are so cute, I would definitely wear it!
Heidi
I definitely would. I actually already have a bird print piece from H&M.
Love this trend! :)
