Would You Wear… a Jeweled Headpiece?

Celebs in Headpieces
Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens, and Kim Kardashian all wearing jeweled headpieces.

If there’s one celebrity that is really trying to make a trend happen, that’s Nicole Richie. She’s constantly wearing jeweled headpieces on Fashion Star, around town, and on the red carpet. But these glittering cranium accessories have been spotted on several more stars, including Vanessa Hudgens, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, and Alicia Keys.

So what differentiates a headpiece from a headband? Usually, a headpiece has a line down the center of the head and it drapes around the sides. Jeweled and metallic tend to be the most popular varieties, but I’ve also seen floral styles.

Is the jeweled headpiece the perfect boho accessory, or is it just too much?

We want to know if you would wear a jeweled headpiece! Leave a comment below with your thoughts on this bold accessory. Do you love it? How would you wear it? Is this just silly and retro (like, BC-Cleopatra-retro)?  Which celebrities above rock it best?

nicole richie rocks it the best! looks best with someone who can pull off bangs because it makes it a little more subtle.

I love it! So elegant and interesting. I’d wear it with a light billowy dress, like pastel chiffon.

Looks really cute on Nicole Richie but I would never wear one!

I would love to wear that but not on a daily basis. It looks really good if you’re going for a boho outit. I would wear that on occassions and Coachella inspired events. :)

Reminds me of some of my Indian jewelry. I would definitely wear them! :)

I think it can look really cute but, personally, I would wear it only to some special occasions (formal, wedding, …) since it looks quite dressy.

Maybe when I get married (I’m Indian) – but otherwise no.

    Or at Halloween actually!!

I like the left picture in the second section, but I think the others look too sparkly and costumey.

I’d wear it out in public if I could pull it off. I used to make similar headpieces out of necklaces when I was a kid because I was obsessed with The Neverending Story and wanted to be Moonchild. I can’t be the only one.

Just way too over the top for normal folks like me!

If I wore this, I would be made fun of to no end…just not my thing.

These look best with bangs. And while I’m totally into the boho look, I can’t see these working for everyday wear.

    Nope. It looks costume-y.

I like the idea of wearing a delicate one with a soft, romantic ensemble, but I feel like you’d have to have a special occasion, as it is a little tiara-like. Flowers sound like something I’d love on one in a photoshoot, but that might be a little mad to wear in real life.

I would wear it, but headbands and headpieces tend to give me headaches for some reason. :/
    A girl can dream though.

    Yes! They’re so cute!

I think Nicole Richie’s looks the most wearable because she has bangs and because it’s not draped around her forehead. The ones touching the wearer’s forehead looks ridiculously costume-y. I would possibly wear one if I had long beachy waves to balance out the formality of the piece, but it’d look a little silly with my super short hair.

    Lol @lin’s comment!

Nicole Richie definitely wears this look the best. But it’s not for me, unless it’s Halloween!

I’d wear them too! To a concert is perfect. Might be easier to wear in silver as well.
