Would You Wear… Mules?

Spring 2014 shoe trend: mules

If you want to buy a new pair of shoes this season, you should know that mules are the hottest footwear trend for spring.

Not sure what those are? Let’s start by defining a clog as opposed to a mule. Clogs tend to have chunkier bottoms and are often made of wood. Mules are a slide-on type of shoe without an ankle strap. They can be flats, of course, but chunky-heeled mules are the craze of the moment, and they are everywhere right now.

You may be pondering how to wear a mule off the runway, or even how to keep it on your foot. “Excuses, excuses,” the fashion elite say. To make this look work with your college wardrobe, we recommend opting for a pair of boyfriend jeans, a fitted jacket, and a wispy feminine tank. We would pair the mules with trendy accessories, like a snakeskin cuff and a bucket bag.

I was totally thinking about how I would keep them on my feet! That being said I now tend to wear flats rather than heels so I can’t say I would definitely give this trend a go.

I used to think these were ugly, but they’ve actually grown on me. I really love the Zara ones you chose and would love them with a pair of distressed jeans.

Don’t really feel comfortable with the idea of wearing them, they are hard to carry off and, not many people would be comfortable wearing them.

Never again! I had several pairs when I was younger and I was so happy to get rid of them. They are as noisy as flip-flops and make people walk funny because it’s hard to keep them on your feet.

I’ll pass! Knowing me, I’d probably fall right out of them. :)
