Would You Wear… Lucite Sunglasses?

Product Information: Nasty GalLulu’s, and Shopbop

Sometimes the term see-through can make us cringe. An unintentionally see-through skirt or blouse is reason enough to make us tread carefully with all things transparent, but we wanted to dive right in as soon as we saw this new trend. Clear sunglasses are way cool this summer and pose no risk of accidental exposure.

The lucite trend has been around in various forms for a few seasons but it has been pretty dramatic as of late. Lucite shoes and clutches are still a bold choice for fashionistas, but lucite sunglasses are perfectly cutting-edge without being overly trendy.

Here are our favorite budget-friendly finds…

Oh I definitely love this trend. Too bad I don’t need any more sunglasses!

    I love lucite!
My regular glasses are lucite with white “legs” haha (Dior, i love them!!)
It’s very flattering for people who dont have very big eyes or when your face is a little on the pudgy side! haha :)

No, it looks tacky! Reminds me of the (prescription) glasses I had when I was 4…adorable then, cheap-looking now.

I got a pair at target with glitter in them. I thought they would just look tacky and cheap at first but now I absolutely love them. They go with anything in a “yeah I’m wearing glittery plastic sunglasses, what about it?” sort of way

I bought a pair in a very dimly-lit store that looked sort of dark burgundy-brown….aaaand it turns out that in the sunlight the rims light up like bright pink arc reactors! I love the color, but’s SUPER distracting when you’re driving and kind of gives me a headache, partially because my eyes can’t stop darting to them. :( So I’ve been wearing them on my head, but they’ve ended up being weirdly non-functional as sunglasses for me.
