After this deplorable winter, the last thing you’re probably interested in is talking about is cold-weather clothes. But one of the keys to sticking to a college-girl budget is buying items at the end of the season (on a dime!) for next year’s chilly weather.

One of Fall 2014’s biggest trends started emerging this past season and was found throughout recent F/W 2014 runway shows. (Faux) fur-trimmed accents are going to be huge in the fall, and you can quote us on that.

We all have seen or have (faux) fur-lined coats and outerwear. But the change this upcoming season is the placement of fur. Fur hemlines on skirts, patches of fur on dresses, fur tanks, and fur sleeves are going to be all the rage. It does seem a little unusual, but we foresee this trend being incredibly wearable. That Topshop skirt below? Pure cuteness when paired with chunky boots and tights.

Three faux fur options we’re loving: Top – ASOS, Skirt – Topshop, Varsity Jacket – JCPenney

Are you digging this trend?

Or is this one you’ll put putting on the shelf sooner rather than later? Will you be rocking a fuzzy skirt or faux fur-trimmed dress? Let us know what you think by leaving your comments below.

Not really digging the trend. I think fur looks out of place in Australia because it doesn’t get that cold, even in winter. Maybe if I was further south…

Hmmmm…… I remember I tried to wear a furry vest once, but it didn’t suit me. It felt like it would be better suited on a glamorous person. :)

No reason to wear fur unless it’s -40°C
Real fur is often cheaper than faux one, so a lot of people in Europe were shocked this winter to find out they bought real, even tough they wantet the faux one to save animals. If you like animals buy nothing that even looks like one
