Any chance that you guys would take a high schooler?

Rachel – You need to be 18 years old in order to apply (because you need to have the legal capacity to enter into contracts). We are primarily a blog written by and for college students, so college students do get preference, however we miiight consider the right high schooler, assuming they were 18 years old, of course. If that sounds like you, please apply!

I’m definitely interested in the job, but I don’t turn eighteen until the end of May. Could I still apply, knowing that even though I’m not eighteen yet, I would be during the summer and fall?

Dana – Yes, you can apply, since if chosen for a position, you would be signing our contract when you are of age (at the beginning of June).

I can’t wait to apply to be a writer! I’m high school senior, but I have been reading College Fashion for years. I’m so glad that I can finally apply! :)

Would you be able to elaborate more on the weekly “workload”? I’m extremely interested in applying and I’ve read all past posts for questions, if there’s any insight you could give on how much you’re asking for and what that requires or experiences with past new writers who were taking on the position that would be very helpful, as this is not a conventional job opportunity. I try to avoid taking on a task without fully knowing what’s expected, time management is vital. Any advice or insight is much appreciated!

Oh no! My birthday’s in December – will your applications open again at the end of the year?

Also, can overseas student apply at all?

    Sorry for all the questions!

Hello, I was just wondering – could I apply although I’m not in the US or UK? I’m from India. A lot of people I know follow this blog, and I’m not completely cut off from worldwide trends. I do like to write and I love your blog, so would you be willing to accept applications from people as far away as I am?

(I’m 18 and finishing up my first year in college, so I think I’m eligible on other grounds.)

I’m very interested in the job position. I attended the school of fashion on Newbury street in Boston and have done countless fashion design and marketing courses at my high school . I turn 18 in august and will be enrolled in college in the fall, would there be any way for me to apply for a writing column for the fall? As a fashion enthusiast and fellow blogger this would be much appreciated!

Carolyn – Which position are you asking about? It varies a lot depending on which position you have and how many posts you’ll be doing each week. In general, neither position is full-time; both are a few hours a week (like, around 4-5 hours/week and often less), done at one’s own pace. Looks on Campus generally requires less of a time commitment than regular weekly or biweekly writing, since you won’t be contributing as often. I’d assume 2-3 hours per blog post each week.

Tiffany – Yes, we will be accepting applications again on October 1st for Spring 2014.

Kayla – Please apply in October for Spring. We’d need you to sign on in June so we couldn’t wait until you were eligible in August.

Ahana, Jess, Tiffany – Please read through the past posts; I’ve answered this question numerous times. We do accept applications from overseas students (and we have a writer from Germany right now), though we give preference to US college students since we are a US blog and we want our blog posts to be tailored to our audience. So long as you have a strong command of the English language, we will certainly consider you if you’re not in the US.

Piyusha – No; we’d need you to sign a contract at the very beginning of June so a July birthday wouldn’t cut it. Please apply in October if you’re still interested.

Since the end date says flexible, I was wondering if it would be okay for a summer only position?

What about would be writers writing from a different country? Are applications encouraged from students in other countries or is it strictly for US based students?

i wish you students from outside the us could apply

    April 9th, 2013 at 5:50 pm

    you could let

  21. 21
    April 9th, 2013 at 6:04 pm

Jennifer – No, unfortunately we can’t be that flexible. We need writers who want to sign on for about 6 months. By end date is flexible, we mean give or take a few days or maybe a week max towards the end.

Sandra and Carolina – Please read through the past posts I linked. In them, I explain repeatedly that students from other countries can apply, although since we are a US-centric blog, we need students that can write for a US audience and will therefore accept a majority of US students. We do currently have writers from outside the US and have accepted them in the past.

I took on a bigger project than I should have for my CF application and it isn’t complete. I may need to hold off on applying until the next time you are taking apps. Will that not be until Winter/Spring 2014? Or was this a one time opportunity?

How long will the Spring 2014 applicants run for? I’m already 18 but I’m still in my senior year. I’ll finish in December
