Reebok EasyTone Challenge Results and Giveaway

Well, it’s been a month since I started the Reebok EasyTone Challenge, so I thought I’d post my final results. Read on to hear my thoughts on the shoes. Even better, EasyTone has offered to do a giveaway for CF readers, so make sure to see the end of this post for details on how you can win a pair of EasyTone sneakers for yourself!
The EasyTone Challenge
To recap, a month ago I decided to test out the new Reebok EasyTone shoes which are supposed to tone your legs while you walk around in them. I’m trying to get in shape for summer, so I figured if it was possible to tone my legs without any extra effort, it’d be worth it. I updated with my progress a few weeks ago, and now my final results are below.
My Results
After 30 days, I have to say, I haven’t noticed any changes in the way my legs or butt look. I am honestly a little sad about this because I really wanted the shoes to work, but here’s why I believe they didn’t work for me.
First of all, I didn’t wear them all the time. I am NOT a fan of running shoes with jeans, and I’m never going to sacrifice style just to tone up. So I decided to only wear the EasyTone’s around the house – never outside. This was probably the main reason they didn’t work for me. These shoes probably work best when they’re worn for all your daily activities – but what stylish girl would want to do that? I’m not willing to wear athletic shoes outside unless I’m exercising, period.
Second, wearing them around the house didn’t give me lots of time to walk around in my EasyTones. I spend most of my day working at the computer, so I don’t walk around constantly when I’m in my apartment. I’m sure if I was more active at home during the day, they would have worked better as well.
That said, it did FEEL like the shoes were working my muscles. They are supposed to create natural instability similar to walking on the beach, and I did notice that feeling. It also felt like my muscles were working harder than usual when I was walking around in my EasyTones, so that might be an indication that they’d work if I wore them more often.
The Verdict
Overall, I think the EasyTone sneakers show promise – they definitely feel like they make your muscles work harder than normal. That said, I think they would work best for someone who would wear them all day for their everyday activities. This would be someone who didn’t care about fashion and just wanted to get in shape. Unfortunately, that’s not me.
The Giveaway – Win a pair of EasyTones!
Now on to the fun part – a giveaway! Even though the shoes didn’t work for me, you might have different results. If you want to take the EasyTone Challenge for yourself, Reebok is giving away a pair of EasyTone sneakers to one lucky CF reader!
Here’s how to enter: comment on this post (make sure to include your email address) and tell us the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get in shape for summer. Did you try some ridiculous fad diet? Run up and down the stairs constantly? Put weights in your socks? Let me know in the comments section and you’ll be entered to win a pair of EasyTone sneakers in your size and preferred color.
The contest will stay open until midnight on Sunday, May 24th, and I’ll randomly choose one winner from all the entries. Only one entry per person, please – duplicate entries will be deleted.
Good luck to all of you – I’ll announce the winner on Monday!

I ate salads for a whole month!
Kellene
I went on a detox diet and biked for an hour and a half everyday… needless to say I got tired and hungry and gave up lol.
M
The craziest thing I’ve ever done to get in shape was lock up all the junk food in my house. Crazy, but effective!
I live with someone who buys junk food non stop, but never eats it. She leaves it laying around for me to eat instead. How annoying. So, I put everything in the highest cupboard in our kitchen. Out of sight, out of mind. ;P
Ali
I’ve been on every single diet i’ve ever heard, if someone tells there is a chance i’ll loose weight, i give it a try. One of the craziest was eating just sugar free jello, vegetables and water.. (that lasted for like three weeks).

jenny
Every time I had a meal, I’d only have half of what was on my plate – and give the other half to someone else, or dump it.
It really made me think about portion sizes, and how much you need opposed to how much you want.
Effective, but kind of wasteful :P
Daphney
I’ve eaten grape fruit with every meal for a whole week!
I hate grape fruit!
Tati
Stopped purchasing anything that wasn’t healthy so all junk food and snack foods (besides fruits of course). Locking it up wouldn’t have worked! lol Needless to say that didn’t work, sometimes you just need a cookie lol
tferr61963@aol.com
Leia
I bought a trampoline! It’s supposed to be great exercise… but everyone thinks it’s just a child’s toy, lol!
Dani
I worked out twice daily for a month (except for weekends, that was my “grace period”), cut calories like a madwoman, and ate the same foods every day. It was boring and completely repetitive, but I lost the weight. If only I could keep that up forever! I’d miss chocolate too much, though. :P

I always decide that I’m going to diet to get in shape for summer. This spring me and my friend tried to do the “special k” diet haha. all of our other friends thought it was ridiculous. We only stayed strong for about a week, you can only eat so much special k!
KS
I promised myself I would run every day and do crunches, but I lasted less than a week. Now I would like to start lifting weights to tone my arms and legs.
Kristin
i ate nothing but peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (they’re cheap and yummy!) and worked out like crazy. I wouldn’t let myself sit down and watch tv or work on the computer; I had to be doing something, whether it was squats, lunges or sit-ups. It worked, but after a while I just got sick of it!
Caitlyn
These days, I lift weights and run about four or five timesa week and try my hardest to eat healthy! I don’t think I’m losing much weight because I’m adding it with muscle, but I’ve toned up and look good, which is what I want. I curb cravings by having a few bites of something chocolatey or splitting dessert.
I wasn’t always so smart, though! Last summer I had quite the experience with one of those Master Cleanses. I tried to give up my entire diet and drink only special lemonade and teas. I was starving, even though on that cleanse you’re not suppossed to feel hungry or crave food. I guess I just like food too much to do one of those things! My thought now is: if you can eat healthy and stay in shape, why starve yourself or try to “cleanse?” I get joy out of food! But that doesn’t mean I have to eat it constantly!
Ana
I’ve done everything. The craziest and most successful summer slim down attempt was when I pretty much lived at the gym for a few weeks, taking any class I could. Needless to say, I couldn’t keep it up!
Chelle
I tried the Cabbage diet! Ugh!
Cat
I decided biking the long way to all my classes was smart. Needless to say it just made me late all the time.
Katie Keisler
The craziest thing I have ever done to lose weight is what I like to call “The Sugar Diet”… I cut out all basic nutrition, and only ate sugary foods. I actually did lose weight, but I had no energy….
Julia
I definietely tried the Cabbage Soup diet to jumpstart my summer body. I even made all these veggie stir fry’s, and a couple different soups (tomato broth based, veggie in the blender to trick myself that it was a “creamy” soup). To this day though, I still can’t stand the thought of bananas and milk…… even though I did lose 3-4 lbs in a week, I definitely gained it all back once I started eating a normal diet again. I would not recommend this to anyone else….
Jessica
I did that whole 3-day diet with the maple syrup drink. Nasty… :(
Krystal
Oh man.. some of you guys’ diets sound terrible. Maple syrup drink? ughh.
I actually do portion sizes now.. I think it’s a lot better for me, because I am such a food fanatic I will stuff my face if I don’t order child’s meals or something.
I guess the craziest diets I’ve done were the grapefruit diet.. (it was terrible) and I’ve also drank tablespoons of vinegar after every meal. All that did was give me indigestion. :[
I’ve decided that diets don’t work, and now I just run regularly and enjoy pizza and pasta.. just not as much/often as before. lol
I think you should pick me as a winner, ’cause my birthday is on Monday. :D
Jasmine
I”ve been trying to go vegetarian (except when people cook for me because then i feel obliged to eat the food) and trained for a half marathon. We didnt run on fridays and sundays but saturdays were long runs.I also tried to stop eating junk foods and sodas. I took up hiking and biking. Those were the most exhausting 7 months of my life. I didn’t lose anything but just toned up. Now, i’ve got school and it’s too hard to be that active again. I still run and eat healthy. kinda.

Hannah
I decided that I would use my weighted hula hoop ALL the time. I hooped while watching tv, while reading my textbooks and while studying for tests. The resulting bruises from my hours of hooping were not part of the slim and sleek physique that I had envisioned.
Shar
I started wearing the Dr. Scholl’s exercise sandals, started eating kimchi regularly, and shunned any drink that wasn’t water for a whole semester of college.
Melissa Kay
To lose weight before Summer about a year ago I enrolled at a local gym and scanned through the classes they offer. I picked the kickboxing and strip class. I loved the kickboxing class but I think my favorite was the Strip class.
It was based off of Carmen Electra’s strip-exercise videos. We met in a classroom in the building that had lining over the windows so no one could see in and it was a girl’s only class! We didn’t learn how to strip, but we got to wear whatever we felt like wearing, even if it was just a bra and short shorts. We would learn dance routines that would sometimes involve a chair. But most importantly, not only were you having fun while working out/losing weight/getting toned but you were starting to feel more comfortable in your own skin. It was really empowering and all the ladies in the class started to feel more feminine and more comfortable in their own skin. It was awesome!
Emma
I learned windsurfing!! I was out in the lake with my 80-year-old grandpa trying to teach me how. After a few weeks of really sore arms, I finally learned how, but it was rough. Really toned up my arms though!
Anne K.
I wore my bikini around the house to keep me motivated, haha!
Karen
For me, it’s kind of hard to do exercises because I’m simply not a sports person. So the best way would be through dieting. I stopped eat meat, cut down portion sizes, and never dined out.
Jenna Z
Right now, I am in a Boot Camp class and it is seriously the MOST running I have done since probably 5th grade! Oh MY gosh! It’s pretty crazy and our instructor pushes us but I have a goal and I am holding up pretty well!
Sabrina
Whenever I felt like eating (wasn’t hungry, just wanted to eat) I’d munch on ice. I got all my water intake and didn’t have to resort to chocolate!
Mmmm…. chocolate……. :P
Liz
I only ate cottage cheese for 3 weekks.. it was pretty crazy, especially ince I was playing on two traveling basketball teams at the time.. Needless to say I lost about 25 lbs..
lol <3
Claudia
The craziest thing I’ve ever done to get in shape was to stop eating breakfast and dinner… i only ate once a day for like a month and a half and i lost 10 pounds..
I know it was crazy but it was right before prom!!
Chelsea
I tried the “fat smash diet.” It’s effective, but I was hungry ALL the time for the first 9 day “detox” period. I ended up giving up and just promising to drink much more water and exercise more regularly.
rwishka
The craziest thing I’ve ever done was work out like mad everyday for two months. I did 2.5 hours of tennis in the morning and 2 hours of intense swimming in the evening. Needless to say, I was pretty exhausted when it was nighttime.
Patrice
The craziest thing I did to get in shape for the summer was the “Slim Fast” diet. I ate nothing but Slim Fast all day (except dinner). It worked pretty well, but I was also working out a whole lot, and I was hungry like really soon after.
Bryannah
:] I’m so sorry the Easy Tone didn’t work out. :P After all, I wanna get a perfect 10.0 bikini bod for the summer too! (:
{ My craziest attempt at trying to work out : For about a couple of weeks, when I was hungry, the only thing I ate was a piece of turkey wrapped up with a piece cheese. O_o I know. I don’t know why I’m so weird…. I think I read it in Teen Vogue or something. :P }
Early 10x congrats to whoever wins! :]

Mandi
So the craziest thing I’ve done is play DDR, CONSTANTLY. I have one of the game pads and the game for my PS2 and I played it for like, five hours a day. I’m not even good at it, but I figured it was good cardio and it kept me entertained. And believe it or not, it actually worked! It got to the point though where I started memorizing the dance routines, thats when I knew it had to stop. :)

I read somewhere that Victoria Beckham is so skinny because she only eats watermelon and drinks champagne. I tried that for a week…until I realized that unlike Victoria, my grocery story doesn’t supply watermelons year-round.
Jasmine
I would get up and dance to commercials when watching T.V. It sounded like a good concept but i only did it for one show and then I grew tired of it. I realized I like to veg out and do nothing when I’m watching T.V.
seba_183@hotmail.com
Kim
I ran around the house a million times instead of getting in a real run outside…because it was so hot out.
Lauren
The “craziest” thing I do when I feel in desperate need of a quick shape-up for summer is to eat only a large breakfast and log in major gym time! Not recommended!
Sarah
I ran back and forth in my hall way for an hour every night for two weeks when it was raining horribly/really wet ALL the time and the treadmil was broken. I also went through a phaze where I would do squats on every step of a staircase that I would walk on. It caused some awkward moments in public places, I’ll have to admit.

April
I decided to start drinking meal replacements, but I bought the powdered form instead of the premixed. Needless to say, the the drink had the consistency of glue and tasted what I imagine the same as it looked… Blaah.
Lisa Nguyen
i bought these “diet pills” that i saw my mom use, and well i pretty much drank water all the time and little portions. the pill made me not hungry and cut up my food that i had eaten (what little there is) but everytime i would get hungry i would in this order:
-or i engage myself in a game where i forget im hungry
-brush my teeth (ugh, i never want to eat after my new freshly clean whites ;D)
-sleep
so I FORGET i’m hungry, then i sleep
Kelly
The craziest thing I did was do lunges wherever I walked. I did them all the time, but only if people weren’t looking. Around my house, to take out the trash… it made my butt fabulous but was just silly in hindsight.
The craziest thing I did that wasn’t on purpose was I went through a Cheerio phase. All I craved all day was Cheerios. So I would just eat four bowls a day and it barely even makes 1000 calories.
desude
bike riding 12 miles everyday! and only eating 1300 calories a day.
lauren
About a month ago I decided to go vegan. It was really spontaneous. I went from eating hamburgers, nuggets, and ice cream one day to pure fruits and veggies the next. It’s been pretty hard, but with exercise i feel a lot healthier and so much more energetic! I’ve definitely lost weight.

Maybe not completely crazy, but this summer my best friend and I are doing the three Kim Kardashian workout videos, and it KILLS. We’re also doing daily three mile runs, and neither one of us is in condition to even run half a mile.
Niha
I’ve always wanted to get in shape but it’s just one of things that never quite happens. So I made a summer goal that by my birthday, June 24, i’ll be at my goal size: a size four. I’m not too concerned with my weight, just looking healthy and eating better/working out. In order to do this, I:
-posted pictures of Megan Fox EVERYWHERE. Bathroom, kitchen fridge door, bedroom, I mean everywhere
- bought a brand new, and expensive might I add, pair of jeans in a size 4 (i’m currently a size 8) so that I HAVE to lose the weight if i wanna wear the jeans
-stocked my new apartment with ONLY healthy food and am currently doing Windsor Pilates but now after reading all the stuff about the Kim Kardashian videos, maybe i’ll try that!
We’ll see come June 24th if it all pays off! :)
Tara
Ran up and down the stairs in a sauna suit [something I don't recommend- it just dehydrates you severely]
Danced non-stop for two hours lol it actually worked really well. All that hip shaking and wiggling really burns the abs
Anie
Okay, so, full confession, I really did put weights in my socks! Working with my trainer, I was determined to impress him! hahaha…. the thing is, I could really use these shoes, because I cannot afford a gym membership now (ahh, the economy!) and would love to work my muscles because I walk everywhere! :)
Likefyre7
omg so one summer i went to my bff’s house in maine….she has a pool (a regular sized in-ground) and we decided to see how many lbs we could lose by doing laps. seriously, after 375, i lost count….a couple weeks later (all we did to lose weight was swim back and forth from one end of the pool to the other) we had both lost about 10-15lbs each!!
the sneakers sounds like an awesome idea, i used to wear a pedometer at work and i figured out i was walking 2-5 miles a day! (i worked at a hourse stable) Imagine what those mile would be like with sneakers like that?
Charli
Too bad the shoes didn’t work for you! I guess there is no such thing as an easy way to get in shape…
I would say one of the craziest things I have done to get in shape was actually what I spent most of today doing. I was stuck in an airport due to missing a flight, and instead of sitting at a gate, I walked back and forth through the Chicago airport. O, and did I mention I didn’t get on another flight until 9 hours after when I was supposed to? That’s a lot of walking!
Kate
I really love the idea of these shoes…I’d sure get a lot of use out of them, since my current running shoes are POTZ.
Craziest thing I ever did to get fit…I started training to do mountain climbing. That’s not that insane at first blush, but it is when you consider that I’m afraid of heights!!! Well, maybe not heights exactly, it’s more the falling thing. But I did it!
I managed to climb the Maderas Volcano on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. 1,394m in altitude. It took me ALL DAY when most of my group finished it in 8 hours, but I made it! Climbing down into dormant crater to cross the thing was the worst part. Nothing major to hang onto, and STEEP. Falling on your butt against a steep crater wall, when you’ve got a LOOOONG way to butt-skid…NOT my idea of fun.
Though the next day I could barely walk…waddle, maybe, but not walk…
Word to the wise…if anyone wants to do any type of rainforest climbing…wear things thatyou don’t care about. In fact, wear things you hate. They stand a VERY slim chance at survival. I ended up just giving the pants and sneakers I wore to a lady that worked at the hostel my group stayed at. In fact she got most of my clothes…all the better to have space for awesome Nicaraugan handicrafts!
…heh…time to plan Trip #3 to Ometepe, next time I want to go for the other, active volcano, Concepcion! 1,600m, sulfur, heat, and AWESOME!
I really would adore having the chance to give the Easytone a go, Zephyr dear, so keep me in mind! Please?
Andi
The craziest thing I ever did to lose weight was go to a laughing class – you know they say that laughing burns more calories than like anything else… so they have these big group laugh sessions… it really is ridiculous! Forced laughing will actually make you laugh… at yourself for paying for a class that is just “aerobic laughing.”
Kelsey
One summer I decided the later I woke up, the less I would eat. So I woke up at 2:30 pm every day so I would only eat dinner and a snack. I would then stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning because I slept so late. My body was on some crazy routine all summer!
Those shoes look awesome! My Mom and I are looking into getting some! haha
kelseyy@zenbe.com
k
I would sleep untill 12 o’clock to quicken my metabllosim, so I would miss half of school. So, I just kept having to play “catch up” in most of my classes. I barely passed.
Debbie
I refused to take the elevator in my apartment for an entire school year. I live on the 10th floor.
Stacy
I had plain rice congee (Chinese rice porridge) for every meal for a week. I wouldn’t touch it for half a year after giving up!
Amy
I was in seventh grade I went to summer camp for three weeks – our cabins had no air conditioning but we were allowed personal fans in our bunks. i refused to use mine believing that I would sweat a lot and thus lose some weight. All the while eating candy and cafeteria food.
Jessi
I lived in a smaller sized town and I decided that instead of driving to work, I would just walk. It took me forever to actually get there but you better beleive that I got in shape quick…. but…I wouldn’t recommend doing this on days of bad weather haha!!!
Melani
When I was 15, I decided to take karate to get more fit. Sounds normal right?
Well, after seeing my first lesson..My mom decided she wanted to take it with me..She was 45 years old and the only person in that class who was over 18.
I love my mom, don’t get me wrong. But she embarressed me greatly that summer.
Dog-Eared
hmm, i suppose just doing crunches the improper way– ouch.
ALesha
Once I actually tried the Master Cleanse diet ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_Cleanse). It didn’t fair to well, I ended up cheating everyday. That’s the last time I try a fad diet.
Olga
I ate only dessert for 2 weeks. I lost 2 pounds!
Sophie
Well I love to shop and I like to look good in my clothes, so during the warm months, I parked at the far end of every parking lot and had to walk an extra long distance to any store I wanted to go in to. Not the easiest when you’ve got bags full of clothes, shoes, accessories, sodas, cake, everything! : )
But hey, anything helps!
Stacey
The craziest thing I did to get in shape was hoola-hoop! It’s a pretty decent muscle toning workout for the waistline, and kinda fun!
ann
i have yet to do anything crazy…. definitely boring, but i hope to keep things that way!
Felicia
i ran to school every morning (about 3 miles) and ate a lot of meats…i have to say it wasn’t that fun cuz i was pretty smelly but at least i could change when i got there
Jess
The craziest thing I ever done to lose weight is what I am doing right now actually.
I work out 2 hours a day. I take a kickboxing class at school, which is around 1 1/2 hours long, and take another class at my gym or run and lift weights.
I been doing this for a month now. And I also count my calories and read the label of EVERYTHING I eat. I don’t eat after 6pm and one time a week I work out an extra 2 hours.
I also stay in the gym’s sauna for around 10 to 15 minutes just to sweat more.
So far I have lost inches around my waist thighs and hips and gain muscle.
The saddest thing is I sacrificed my fashion for weight lost. I have been wearing yoga pants, tanks and yes sneakers outside EVERYDAY. Its been rare lately if I am seen with my usual skinny jeans and cute flats. But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do lol
Jparedes1@student.rcc.edu
Crystal
I did the grapefruit diet to try to lose weight quickly. So not worth it.

One summer i bought a magnent that made a moooo sound everytime i opened the door. It kinda wrk but it was soooooo annoying!! <3
samantha
hmm. craziest thing i’ve done to get in shape? well since i’m addicting to good tasting (sadly, not always healthy) foods, i used to destroy my meal when i felt i’d ate enough and shouldn’t ingest the extra calories :p like, i’d throw a heap of salt or pepper or mix all of my food into one giant blob of whatever i was eating, that way it looked totally unappetizing and i wouldn’t want to eat anymore. it looks kind of strange when you go out to dinner or something, lol, but it kept me from eating stuff i knew i’d feel bad about later. =p

Before the days of digital cameras, while attending one of my friend’s bachelorette parties, the “male entertainment” took my camera and snapped a few pictures without my knowledge. When I had the film developed, I was horrified to learn that he had taken pictures of what had remained in his g-string during the party. Since I had already paid for the photos to be developed, I decided to make use of them by hanging the photos on the fridge. So began the diet… not only for myself, but for my roomate as well. We didn’t go near the fridge for about 2 weeks!
Allison
For spring break, i cut out all white breads, ate only grain/whole wheat , upped the veggies, and cut out all meat except for grilled chicken. Also did a series of crunches, scissorkicks, and pushups every night before bed. for about a month, then the week before i ate only vegs and yogurt. worst ever, but i was so happy with the way i looked in a bikini!!!!
Helen
I joined a military boot camp and was swore for months lol…. I would get butt cramps going up the stairs after intense workout sessions and people would just stare at me like I was crazy…but I really was in so much pain..
kels
I’ve done many things to get toned up, especially when beach season starts coming. Usually it’s just yoga and working out, but last year, I decided to try the “juice cleanse” diet where all I did was drink juice and smoothies, along with running up and down the stairs in my house 10 times a day.
Caitlin
Being stuck in a studio all day really doesn’t encourage exercise, so towards the end of the semester I would get up in the middle of working (classmates around and everything) and bust out a few quick exercises!
Don’t worry, this usually happened only while working LATE at night. :P
Mrudula
I started taking alovera and amla juice… cutting out all type of food except salads… along with yoga and pranayam…. all this needs lot of determination….. :)
Rayna
Last month, I went on this diet where you can only drink liquids.
I did this for about 2 weeks… to no avail. I do know some great soup recipes now, but I lost no weight. DX
Stephanie
Once, a friend convinced me to try fasting, drinking nothing but all-natural juice. But fasting is ridiculously hard, so it didn’t last all too long for me…
Kate K
I ate cereal for two meals a day for about 2 months, and walked up ten flights of stairs as much as possible. I usually had to take a break around the 7th floor. It worked, but alas I’ve gained back some of the weight since, maybe I should try it again.
If I get these shoes it would ony help that much more, eh eh?
Linda
The craziest diet I’ve ever done was “The Green Tea & Pepper(Hot Sauce) Diet”.
The idea behind it was you drink green tea with every meal & put lots of hot sauce on all of your food. The antioxidants in the green tea in combination with the increased heart rate from the hot sauce was supposed to be the ultimate weight loss agent. It wasn’t. Yes, I lost weight..but not enough to warrant following this ridiculous diet for 3 months. Ah, the things we do for weight loss…lol
Katie
The craziest diet/exercise I have done was kind of neither. I had just stopped working out everyday with my danceteam, so I was hungry less. I realized that not eating as much was making me lose a little weight, so I went with it. I taught myself to enjoy the hunger feeling. I would try to only eat one or two small meals a day. I didn’t exercise because that would cause me to be hungrier. If I was so hungry that I couldn’t stand it, I would go to sleep and set an alarm to wake up at the next meal time. It worked awesome, but it just wasn’t practical.
Joana
the craziest thing i ever done to get in shape was run for hours on my tread mill with like five layers of clothes because then you sweat more and have to push harder then normal and drink pitchers of water right after another so much that i would have to pee like every five min… (suppose to fill u up) and eats lot of fruit … it worked a little for a while but then i just gained that weight back when i stopped
Deanna
Workout tapes!! Absolutely did not work, by the way..
Mandy
I wore weights under my jeans for like two months and worked out for 3 hours every day.
Shana
I am always trying crazy diet fads. I have tried the saltine cracker diet, working out every day (which meant an hour on the eliptical), and the South Beach diet. However, the craziest diet I ever tried was last spring, when I worked out every day and only ate one bowl of ice cream the entire day. It worked I lost ten pounds and since it was the beginning of summer it was the best idea. I eat a lot healthier now but still watch what I eat.
I got the idea when I heard that ice cream (frozen yogurt) had a lot more nutrients in it than people think.
Alice Cochran
I did Wii Fit everyday for an hour and stopped buying junk food!
Theresa Pak
I ate plain tofu for breakfast lunch and dinner!
erica blaney
wow thanks for the giveaway, sorry you didn’t have physical results, but i do appreciate the honest report! i am still dying to try these fit shoes anyways!
the craziest thing i have done to get in shape for the summer season was a few summers ago, when i told everyone that my car was broken down so i could walk the hour or so to work! everyone believed me because my car is older than i am & was always having issues. many people offered me rides & insisted they’d take me, but i would just tell them i preferred to walk, or that my car was going to be working soon :) it definitely got me in shape quickly, but wow i was always so tired!
this summer instead of being crazy i just got a local gym membership & have been walking there 3-4x a week with a few friends who live nearby :)

I haven’t tried too many crazy things to lose weight. I tried munching on Ice cubes in order to keep from unhealthy snacks which just gave me a wicked stomach ache at the end of the day. I have also tried wearing those Fit Flops non-stop. In the end they didn’t help much. Gave me a few blisters and the shoes themselves just didn’t look good with anything I tried to match them with
Inness
I’ve never done anything TOO crazy (although this spring quarter I decided to try a temporary vegetarianism to see if it would help skinny me up), but I did spend last summer grinding up chia seeds (ch-ch-ch-chia seeds, yes) and putting them in all of my food.
Elisha Lynn
All of my crazy diet ideas revolve around food since I do not love exercising. I have taken the cream out of oreo cookies to cut back on calories, I have made myself drink an entire nalgeene of water before every meal and I tried going vegie during the summer.

I only ate fruit and diet bars for a month…it worked

Last summer I found a video on YouTube entitled “8 Minute Abs.” Very 80s, early 90s, but it helped. I just felt silly and made sure no one could hear the man talk. It was a very low-key endeavor.

The craziest thing I’ve ever done to get in shape for summer is eat only fruits and vegetables to lose weight. Let’s just say that did not work at all! Healthy eating is the only way to go for long-term results!

The craziest thing I ever did was definitley when I went on the cabbage soup diet. Seven days of ONLY cabbage soup! By the fifth or sixth day, you end up SMELLING like it and you pretty much hate cabbage. It worked, but I totally gained everything I lost back…it was a short-term thing, so it didn’t last very long.

I tried walking to school or back home from school every day it was an hour a half walk, lets just say that its not a good idea when school starts at 8:30 in the morning. and i ate salads twice a day for two months actually kinda worked.

The craziest thing I ever did to get into shape this sounds crazy but really did work is called the cookie diet. all it is is a low-calorie diet, in which six of the special cookies are eaten when you get a craving, along with eight glasses of liquid i drank water, and only one meal is eaten, dinner, consisting of 6 ounces of lean protein like chicken or fish plus at least one cup of vegetables. i ended up losing 15lbs in a month but felt really weak and felt like i was going to faint all the time.
i love the idea of the easytone shoes. i will be working at a summer camp with little kids i have to wear tennis shoes and hate the way my legs look and am embarrassed when i wear shorts. so i think the shoes would be perfect for me. my shoe size is a 7 and i love the pink color. thanks

The craziest thing I ever did was a week on a diet of grapefruit and apples. Big mistake. I mean I love those two fruits, but when you eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner, no so good. I also went to the gym everyday for about an hour (kept that up for about a month) so that actually did give me some results.

My senior year of high school, I joined the cross country team. It was hard at first but I ended up improving my 5k time by 7 minutes by the end of the season! My legs were super toned and I got the most improved runner award!

Last year, I found some old workout VHS tapes of my moms along with her old pair of ankle weights. I ate more than usual to try to gain muscle and did the tapes everyday. It worked pretty good, that Denise Austin is an animal at getting you in shape!

I have done some pretty stupid things, including taking weight loss pills that “make you lose weight”, taking apart food just so i could consume less calories, taking ridiculous classes including hot yoga, which was really good but crazy.

I wanted to fit into my dress for my formal, so I ate one meal a day for 3 weeks. I did fit into my dress, but the weight came back on eventually :(
Kaleigh
I went on a melon-only diet. I heard that all the sugar burns off quickly and the rest is just water!! After a week, I was so sick of melons, I haven’t touched one since! Oh, and I did lose a little weight, but not enough to make it worth while haha
keigee
for 2 weeks i was only drinking tea. ONLY TEA and WATERMELON. i dont think it’s healthy. i just needed to fit in my grad dress. and i did. but i looked soo tired all the time, thank god for make-up or i wudve looked sick on grad.
oh, and i didnt eat past 3 pm. yeah it’s pretty crazy. ill never do that method again. =)
kate
i ate nothing but celery and water for a couple days. NOT A GOOD IDEA. it has negative calories. i had no energy.. it was terrible.
Samm
12 weeks of bootcamp during semester break so I woke up at 5 in the morning just for it and then I ate mcdonalds after each session out of hunger, 10kg’s lighter it worked
Ellen
Eating a cup of ramen noodles and drinking at least one bottle of water for dinner for two weeks, and skipping the elevator and biking to class. :-)

I stopped eating junk food for a month. I’m not sure if it worked, but I started craving again and I ate a ton of junk food again.
Daria
well, i have school, 2 jobs and i try to jog at least twice a week… and i don’t eat meat. i think that’s pretty crazy already.
and last year i tried to write down everything i ate during the day… but seeing all these lists of junk food made me so upset one evening that i decided to switch to my special wine/chocolate diet =)

After my 2nd soccer practices each day (in the summers we had 2-a-day practices every day), I would go workout at the gym!
jamie
I tried the good old fashion salad diet. I ate salad for a whole week… I couldn’t stand salad anymore.. I’m not a rabbit
lauren
For two months I went on an all liquid diet and took a bunch of fitness classes to get in shape for summer. It definately worked but I was excited to start eating solid foods again. : )

Like so many other i have tried like everything, but to be honest i dont think i has ever worked. The best thing i have found out is eating what you really want, because otherwise it gets to be such an obsession, that you get really craving for sweets afterwards.
The best exercise ever is being a postofficer…not kidding. I earn money, and work out…. I wear my own clothes if i want to, no uniform, and i really like it. it is said that you should not kill the messenger, but that is certainly not a problem.
The idea is not to be too focused on it as excercise, but more like a job… it has been scientificly proven that an hour of garden work is better than running 10 km (im european)
I know its not the most fasionable, but i get more money for clothes, i get a greater figure, so i like it!

I wore leg weights under my socks for two months! I hid them by wearing jeans all the time.
