Announcing: The Reebok EasyTone Challenge

Reebok EasyTone

I’m excited to announce another promotion I’m going to be participating in over the next few weeks! Since summer is so close and I’m trying to get in bikini shape, I’ve decided to participate in the Reebok EasyTone Challenge.

* What is EasyTone?

EasyTone is Reebok’s new line of sneakers that tone your legs as you walk around in them. They have “balance pods” built in under the heel and forefoot of the shoes, which are designed to create natural instability with every step. This instability forces your leg and glute muscles to work harder, increasing muscle tone and giving you a workout when you’re just walking around the house or doing everyday activities.

According to Reebok, “While wearing EasyTone shoes, a person will experience increased muscle activation* in her glutes (28%) and in key muscles in her hamstrings (11%) and calves (11%). (*Based on tests comparing EasyTone to a typical foam based walking shoe.)” Pretty cool, huh?

* What is the EasyTone Challenge?

Reebok wants to get the word out about these shoes, so they sent me a pair of EasyTone sneakers to test out for 30 days and review for you guys! I’ll be wearing the shoes around the house during the day for all of my regular activities (because you know how I feel about athletic shoes and jeans in public), and I’m going to update you all on my progress as the month goes by.

Overall, I’m excited to test the shoes out but am also a little skeptical. I’m a big believer in diet and exercise, so I’m not sure if I believe that a pair of shoes can make that much of a difference in the tone of your legs. But you never know – maybe these shoes will work well for me!

I’m going to update you all again with my honest thoughts on EasyTone in a few weeks, so check back here to learn more about these new shoes.

haha i’m the same way zephyr, my sneakers do not see the light of day outside of the gym and theme parks. These seem like a fantastic invention thoughm i’m excited to see how you like them.

My legs muscles are huge enough from dancing my whole life though, when will they invent shoes that work your abs? :P

Is it just me or is this website becoming you promoting free products you get and less articles on fashion that we all grew to love this website for? I just think that its way too commercial – I miss the old articles!

Lauren – Yay, glad someone agrees with me on not wearing running shoes with anything but workout clothing. If they invented shoes that would give me 2003 Britney Spears’ abs, I’d wear those 24/7 even if they did look like running shoes. Well maybe not 24/7…. but I’d at least consider it.

bg – Will have to check those out!

Lyd – I haven’t heard of the Nike ones. Have you tried them? This seems like a new thing in footwear.

Girl – Aw, I’m sorry you’re getting that impression! I try not to post too much stuff like this to be honest – I hate overly commercial blogs and that’s why I’ve only posted about products I received 3 times in the past 6 months. But you’re right, two of them were this month, so I can see where it could seem like a lot. Don’t worry, though – the fashion articles aren’t going anywhere & I have lots more planned for the next few months!

I just got a tack stuck in the bottom of my shoe, the bottom popped out, 3 days after I bought them. I called Reebok and they
said the warranty does not cover stepping on a tack and I would have to buy another pair. I just hear a loud air gushing out sound and uneven shoes. A wasted $110.

i recently purchased a pair of easy tone reebox tennis shoes, the sales person did not explain to me that that these tennis shoes ran small (had i known i would have bought 1/2 size larger) these tennis shoes are uncomfortable oviously too small.; and they hurt my feet i can only wear them for a a short time. i bought size 9 and should have bought 9 and 1/2.

the same day i purchased my shoes my 2 girlfriends also bought a pair each. is there any way i can return these size 9 and get a 9 and 1/2?

thank you for your kind consideration

I have the EasyTones, and I love them! I don’t even work out in them. I use them casually in my day to day. I do feel my muscles working harder, and are loving the results! And of course the warranty doesn’t cover damage like a tack in your shoe…that’s like Dell guaranteeing that the laptop you just bought will never get a virus. The damage is possible, but it’s not Reebok’s fault.

Word of caution to anybody who just wants to wear these around the house: they work better on flat surfaces like concrete and tile. If you’re using them on carpet, it won’t really work because the point of the shoe is that it simulates walking on sand by its instability. Carpet or any other soft, cushiony surface will simply surround the pods rather than making them work as sole (get it?) supporters of the feet.
