Good post. I love the plaid coats best, but I can’t afford a new one this year. I’ll just have to stick with my trusty grey zip-up wool coat.

I have to disagree with you about leather, though. We regularly kill cows for food. No one is killing them simply for leather – it is a by-product of the meat industry. So you aren’t saving any animals by not wearing leather, you’re actually just wasting part of the animal. If we are going to use them, then we should use as much of them as possible. Also, leather is better than faux in the way that it will last you for ever and ever, so you end up saving money in the long run even though it SEEMS pricier at first. I’ve gone through so many fake leather belts that I know this firsthand!

Plus, I didn’t see you (or anyone) arguing against leather in the boots article. ;)

I think you should make an article on boots. I have become obsessed with the rouched/slouch suede boots. I have also been looking everywhere for cute ones perferably in black/brown. I haven’t been able to find many that are cute and under $50. (I’m a broke college fashionista…)

I found some cute ones at charlotte russe, but they are too big…

I LOVE the girly coats!! However, all the ones that I have found that I can afford and like are 3/4 sleeves, which isn’t good for winter….
I’ve had my eye on a plaid one though. I’m pretty excited about it.

I recently purchased a faux leather bomber jacket from target yesterday (not found on website), as well as a swing style one

which I loveeee, so I was totally surprised to read this post! Although I’m an hour glass shape the swing style actually fit perfectly with my natural curves so I don’t think its totally necessary to be more top heavy than bottom.

sky – I know, right? If I had tons of money, I’d buy sooo many coats and wear a different one every day.

Alyssa – Hmm, there are a bunch of places you can look. My faves are Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever 21, Nordstrom, AE and GAP. Try those places for a trench.

This is a great selection, I want a coat from each of those categories. I really want to get a trench coat this winter. I’m looking for a cropped trench coat that hits like the top of the thigh, any ideas as to where I might find one?
