Fifties Trend

Out of all of this fall's hottest trends, my favorite has to be the fifties trend. This is the era that brought us Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot, so what's not to love?

From kitten heels to full skirts, this trend is all about wearing demure yet fitted pieces.

Want to channel the fifties, but don't know where to start? Here are three easy ways to try out some 1950s style, without looking like you stepped off the set of Grease:

1. Date Night: A Full Skirt

One of the biggest fifties trends right now is the full-length skirt. The skirt above is in one of fall's hottest shades-- camel-- and hits right at the knee to create that perfect 50s silhouette. A fitted black top balances out the skirt, while these simple flats are both comfortable and stylish. Finally, accessorize with a fun necklace and oversized clutch.

2. For Work: A Fifties-Style Cardigan

Give your business casual outfits a 50s twist by donning a fitted cardigan with adorable detailing. This coral-colored cardigan will brighten up a basic silk cami and wide-leg pants. Finish the outfit with some sleek gray pumps and elegant earrings.

3. For Class: Penny Loafers

Penny loafers were famous in the 50s and are making a stylish comeback this fall. These brown ones are just as comfortable as your favorite ballet flats -- perfect for sprinting across campus! Wear them with some cropped pants and a breezy blouse for a casual look. Add a roomy bag and pretty ring for an understated, yet fashion-savvy look.

What do you think?

Do you like the fifties trend? Do you own any 50s-inspired pieces? What do you think of these outfits? Be sure to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
