I love it!!!!

I love this tupe of skirts but it’s a bit difficult to find one that doesn’t look a bit tacky, as they usually have no embelishments at the back.
There are a few cute ones in New Look which are a real bargain!

I am still surprised that you continue to do these posts from F21, especially after all the news and controversies surrounding this business. I wish you would move on to a different retailer.

Glad you guys like this week’s find! I have to say, it’s my personal fave piece that we’ve featured in a while.
Fashiom – Ooh, love New Look! Will definitely have to look there – I visited the actual shop when I was in London this fall and it was so fab.
Laur – I see what you’re saying, though our posts were meant to inform, not suggest anyone boycott anything. Regardless, the unfortunate reality is that almost every big “fast-fashion” discount retailer has faced the same accusations as Forever 21, re: questionable labor practices, knockoffs, etc., – what makes F21 unique? Or are you suggesting we should boycott all fast-fashion stores? And if so, what is the alternative? It would be great if we could link to vintage online, but vintage pieces, by nature, aren’t sold in large quantities and a variety of sizes. 99% of readers would click over and find them sold out.
I wrote a whole essay of a comment about this issue here if you’re interested. I wish there was a good solution to this but I don’t see any real alternatives. If you have any ideas, let me know!

Not a big fan of the skirt
I do love the top and green blazer from the second look
Laur- I absolutely agree with your intentions but I don’t think boycotting the brand will work. It is mass produced and really cheap, so many people (including students) will shop their because they cannot afford the higher prices.
What I think needs to be done is the unionization of the sweatshop workers. Corporations move there because of cheap labor and no unions so they can make more profits. The U.S has a huge unemployment rate but companies would still go to third world countries. Plus, unions are under attack even in the U.S (many states removed collective bargaining rights). Unionization will be the only way those workers in third world countries will get their rights

I guess I’ve never really been a fan of Forever 21, with my 5’8″ 150lb body type I don’t fit into their sizes (same is true with H&M and Target etc). And then after reading your posts about this retailer and others I do make a conscious effort to avoid places like F21. That is my viewpoint. So if readers feel comfortable giving money to a company like this then that is their choice. I don’t have a solution other than avoiding “fast fashion”. I also avoid purchasing from larger retailers too (i.e. Nike and WalMart), I’m a fan of the little guy and Goodwill!! :) But again, that is me. I do enjoy this web site, I will just scroll past these items and posts.
