Fabulous Find of the Week: Forever 21 Denim Skirt
Remember back in middle school when the coolest thing you could possibly wear was a denim miniskirt? Well, while *those* denim miniskirts now make most of us cringe, denim will forever have a place in our wardrobes – especially this spring, when the fabric is hotter than ever. Denim vests, chambray skirts and dresses – you name it, it’s on for spring. So, naturally, this week’s Fabulous Find is right on trend!
This adorable smocked-waist denim skirt from Forever 21 is not only in a shape that’s flattering on everyone, but it’s also the perfect staple to take from spring well into summer, fall, and winter! Oh, and by the way, it’s only $17. Beat that!

Outfit Inspiration
As we all know, denim never goes out of style, so check out these three outfits to see a few possible ways to wear this adorable skirt.
1. Bohemian Casual

Skirt, Tee, Belt, Sandals, Red ring, Black ring, Necklace, Sunglasses
This outfit is something you could definitely wear to class. The basic combination of a denim skirt and plain white tee gets an extra punch of style with just a few key accessories – some cool rings, a bold statement necklace, and a leopard belt. Top it all off with a cute pair of retro-inspired sunglasses and you’re good to go for a nice spring day of classes!
2. Polished Feminine

Skirt, Shirt, Belt, Oxfords, Socks, Necklace
This look is more feminine than the last and has an easy, polished feel to it. Here, I paired the skirt with another white shirt, but this time it’s a short sleeved, collared button down. For accessories, I chose a champagne-colored belt, an oversized chain necklace (to be worn like the model – perfect!), a pair of woven oxfords, and some adorable ankle socks. This sweet, girly outfit would work for lunch with the girls, a coffee date, or a meeting with one of your teachers – it’s classic and sweet, but definitely right on trend!
3. Flirty Floral

Skirt, Top, Clogs, Necklace, Bangles, Lipgloss
This last outfit is absolutely perfect for a date. This time, the denim skirt is paired with a floral tube top. (Tube tops aren’t my favorite style of shirt, but corsets are HUGE this spring, and this top is an easier way to pull of the look.) The belt that comes with the skirt can stay with this outfit, because it goes well with these awesome cognac clogs and the wood details on the gold bangles. Finish off the look with a sweet charm necklace and some pretty pink lipgloss for a little extra glam.
Your thoughts?
So there you have it – three easy ways to style this wardrobe staple. If you don’t have at least one (non-jeans) denim piece already, go get one! You’ll always be able to re-wear it and work it into your wardrobe during any season. And why not start with this amazing skirt for only $17?!
So what did you guys think? Would you wear this skirt? Which look is your favorite? Let me know by leaving a comment!

The second look is my favorite. I could see some cute Parisian girl wearing that!
Emma
I loooooove these posts especially! And who could go wrong with a flippin’ adorable skirt like that?
Bekah
I’d probably add a cardigan or leather jacket to the third outfit, just bc a short skirt & tube top is a little skimpy. Otherwise these outfits are super cute! I really like the chain necklace.
kelsey
Adore the first look! :)
Evelina
I love the first and second look! Gah – now I’m tempted to buy a denim skirt. :p

I love these looks.
Could there maybe some post sometime soon-ish for spring/summer looks with black shorts? I got a pair from AE, they’re adorable I’m just having a hard time putting a look together with them.
Audrey
I did buy a chambray skirt like this last fall from UO, and though I have worn it a few times, It just isn’t that comfy. Today I ripped out the elastic smocking in the back and now it’s WAY better! I would agree with Bekah that the tube top is skimpy, and not complimentary to pear/straight shapes. I would add more fabric to the top to balance the look more.
These three looks are fairly diverse in styling, but totally attainable. Nice post!
Danielle
darn! How did I miss this the other day?!

Could you do a post on a long sleeve coral striped top?

Maybe you should mention that the skirt is 24 inches long! The model who is modeling this on Forever21′s website is 5’11. I’m 5’6 (not too short) and that would go down a little too far on my body to be cute.
Isabella
Very stunning clothes with nice accessories for this summer, really got a lot here. Thanks for sharing!
Sam
I personally don’t think the skirt and tube top are too skimpy. But then again I’m from nice and hot Texas where that would just be more comfortable than adding a cardigan
dreamer
i like the first and second ones, but i’d prefer mixing elements from the two :)
Jess
I agree with Sam. In some areas, a cardigan or jacket just isn’t practical when it starts to heat up.
This post really makes me want to wear skirts more often! I especially like the first and third looks.

I definitely like this denim mini so much better than the ones I wore back in middle school. Cannot wait for the Forever 21 to come here, it’s supposed to be done in October!
Vivian
OMG yes! You are spot on about the denim miniskirts of grade school. I purged my closet of them a few years ago and I’ve never looked back. It baffles me when I still see girls wearing them around campus. *shivers*
