If I had to pick a signature look, it would be the fit-and-flare dress. It's a no-fail go-to, and I have WAY too many (if there is such a thing).

So, why do I love them so much? First of all, they're so flattering. They hug up top and make your chest look amazing, fit to highlight your waist, then poof out to give a feminine look no matter if you're tiny or curvy on the bottom. They work for all body types.

Secondly, they are classically pretty and feminine (not to say there aren't versions that are totally edgy!). I feel like a princess and the girl-next-door simultaneously when I'm in one. And they come in endless prints, colors, necklines, you name it, so you're sure to find one that fits your body and style.

Fit-and-flare dresses work for dressy or casual occasions. They come in casual fabrics like chambray and cotton, party-ready ones like neoprene, and dressed up ones like lace and crepe. Some have sheer panels, some have cutouts.

The style can really vary, but it's so exciting to have a basic shape that I know flatters. Whenever I see a unique fit-and-flare I get excited because I'm more confident it will fit right. It's like when the designer was making their line, they thought, "Oh, and let's make a fit-and-flare so Katy can for sure wear this killer print."

Yet another excellent thing about fit-and-flare dresses is that they are sold basically everywhere, at basically every price range. In this post I've rounded up six picks from this season, as well as a list of where I've found or seen the best selection of fit-and-flares, whatever your budget.

So check out these dress destinations and get shopping! I hope you'll find something that fits and gives your style flair.
