Heads up for college fashionistas: If you attend Northeastern University, Northwestern University, Ohio State, San Diego State University, University of Central Florida, University of Minnesota, University of Texas or the University of Washington, you need to check out this new contest sponsored by Macy's

In order to promote its American Rag fashion line, Macy's is holding a contest called "Design An American Rag Print". Students will be asked to design a print that they believe fits with the brand. The designs will be posted on AmericanRagCampus.com, where users can vote for their favorite. The contest runs until May 1.

The prize for this contest is a $1,000 Macy's gift card for the grand prize winner. The winning print will also be considered for production as part of the official American Rag line. Macy's states that "the goal behind the campaign is to enhance sales around the eight college campuses and boost the apparel with college girls."

Sounds like an excellent opportunity for fashion design students, and any other artistically inclined girls out there! If you have some great design ideas, this is an opportunity to get your name out there, not to mention score some clothes from Macy's.
