I've said it before and I'll say it again: 2015 has been a great year for fashion, because it's been all about taking risks. Gone are the days of an unembellished LBD landing you on the best dressed list.

So as 2015 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to celebrate 5 famous ladies who had major style game in 2015. They weren't afraid to take risks and be unapologetically, fashionably themselves. These successful ladies also have the best accessory--confidence. I can't wait to see what they bring to 2016.

And the winners are...

5. Sarah Hyland

Why she's fab:

Working with the awesome Brad Goreski as her stylist has really upped Sarah's style game. I love how she mixes it up with bright colors and different hemline lengths, and she loves a good two-piece set. In 2015, she also glowed with a new haircut and a new love after surviving an abusive relationship. Oh yeah, and there's her little show Modern Family.

How to get her look:

For going out this year, don't be afraid to go glam. Bold prints, colors, and embellishments are way more fun for evening than neutrals. Be strategic with jewelry -- you don't need too much when the clothes are such a statement, but a stack of rings or a bangle worn higher on your arm add interest that can take a look to the next level.

4. Dakota Johnson

Why she's fab:

To be totally honest, after seeing 50 Shades I didn't think Dakota would be topping my list of new fave starlets. But after seeing her some of her flawless looks this year (more faves here and here) and the trailer for her upcoming chick flick How to be Single, my opinion of her has totally changed.

How to get her look:

Separates for evening are awesome and are having a total style moment. Go monochromatic with a matching blouse or jacket and great-fitting cropped pants, or throw on a coordinating jacket with a chic dress. Finish with sharp accessories like a structured bag. For daytime, don't be afraid to dress up. Add unexpected touches like edgy flats, a statement bag, or a hat.

3. Zendaya

Why she's fab:

As we move in to the top three the answer to this question becomes increasingly obvious. This year, Zendaya naturally continued to be the most daring fashion chameleon on the red carpet, with fashion, hair, and beauty dares that totally paid off. But she also spoke out about racism in Hollywood and, NBD, got her own Barbie.

How to get her look:

Try anything and everything! Zendaya pulls off trendy looks by finding pieces that really fit, which takes patience but is totally worth it. Also, add pops of color - Zendaya isn't afraid to mix it up. And as totally tempting as it is to stick with the same no-fail hair and makeup, try matching your beauty look to the vibe of your outfit for knockout results.

2. Selena Gomez

Why she's fab:

I've loved Sel for years. But in 2015, she became a total grown-ass woman. Not only did she release her most adult album yet, she took her style to a whole new level of luxe that is best described as old-Hollywood chic with a twist (more examples here, here, and here). I'm not sure I will ever get over this pajama suit.

How to get her look:

Like Dakota, Sel is fantastic at dressing up for daytime. Loose jumpsuits, structured jackets, and skinny pants are casual but super polished. For evening, add unexpected layers of interest like a chic coat, cape, or major belt.

1.  Taylor Swift

Why she's fab:

Ok, all hail the queen of 2015, with regards to fashion, music, #squadgoals, and everything else. Her street style slays just as much (if not more) than her red carpet looks. But really, nothing makes an outfit look better than wearing it while taking over the world.

How to get her look:

You could start by reading my post about this very topic. Need more? Don't shy away from heels for daytime (when it's practical), and don't be afraid to rock 5-inch stilettos even if you're tall. Go for girly, slightly retro, flattering silhouettes like crop tops, high-waisted shorts, and fit-and-flare dresses. A top-handle bag is the perfect finishing touch for day, and for evening choose pumps that pop in a complimentary color to your dress.

What do you think?

Who were your favorite style stars of 2015? Do you love these ladies' style? What trends will you be trying in 2016?
