Stylish Men: Fashion Inspired By Mick Jagger

Here at CF, we love to draw inspiration from unlikely sources. From Nintendo games to artwork to Disney films, we have fun configuring wearable outfits inspired by just about everything.
For this next series, I’m going to combine my two all-time favorite subjects…fashion and hunky men! That’s right, we’re taking inspiration from stylish men throughout history.
Kicking off this series is the man of the hour (thanks in part to Maroon 5′s latest single), Mick Jagger. The poster boy for sex, drugs, and rock and roll, Mick Jagger’s band The Rolling Stones hit the scene in the ’60s and have been inexorably linked to rock music ever since. In addition to a diverse music catalogue, numerous number one hits, dozens of best selling records, and a bevy of beautiful lovers, Mick Jagger is also known for his incredible personal style.

Gimme Shelter
Major elements of Mick Jagger’s style include tight pants, velvet, jackets, studs, ruffled shirts, and funky belts. Over the years, Jagger has combined them all for a unique look that is androgynous, flashy, and a little bit boho. Look for structured jackets in unusual fabrics, printed pants, and flowy blouses to channel some of Mick’s iconic style.
Here are a few outfits to help get you started:
Wild Horses

Pants, Jacket, Blouse, Shoes, Cuff
Black skinny motorcycle pants and a fancy blouse make a great base for this first outfit. Add a touch of Mick’s flair by pairing it with a velvet smoking jacket and leopard print booties. Finish with a cool metal cuff for a Britain-meets-badass look.
Confessin’ The Blues

Pants, Jacket, Tunic, Shoes, Earrings
Start off this feisty look with some subtle python-print pants and allude to the British Invasion by rocking a Union Jack flag sweater. Finish the look by adding a motorcycle jacket, cute shoes, and feather earrings.
Sympathy For The Devil

Pants, Blouse, Vest, Shoes, Turban
Colored velvet was one of Mick Jagger’s trademarks in the ’60s and ’70s, so play homage to him by rocking some wine-colored skinny velvet pants. Add another one of his signatures, a ruffled blouse, and top it off with a funky vest. Finish the outfit with some tough boots and a leopard print turban.
What Do You Think?
Do you listen to the Rolling Stones? What do you think about Mick Jagger’s style? Do you channel British fashion very often? What other stylish men would you like to see us cover? Leave us a comment to continue the girl talk!

I am a huge fan of the Stones, and my best friend and I were Keith and Mick for Halloween (I was Mick) and my costume came completely from my wardrobe lol.
Stephanie
I was Mick Jagger for Halloween and used pieces from my closet to make my entire costume!
P.S. One of these outfits needs to have some colorful Keds. Mick loves his Keds.

I love the velvet tuxedo jacket in the first look. It’s totally unexpected and adds a edgy vibe to an otherwise classic look. I love finding inspiration in the most unexpected icons.
Emma
Love the post! You guys should totally cover Jimmy Page, from the 70′s till even now, his style sense is just WOW!

I love the British flag on the 2nd outfit. It is really cool.

I love Mick Jagger, but I have to admit that I was hoping for a British flag minidress here! It just seems so cute and 60s (and therefore, Mick Jagger like!)
