Whether you use Snapchat or not, you've probably heard of it, and it's popular filter feature.
If not, never fear, a brief summary is here! Basically, Snapchat is a picture messaging app. You send pictures to your friends, your friends can see them for 10 seconds or less and then they disappear forever. There's been add-ons, like the Stories feature, where you can post a picture for all of your friends to see for 24 hours, and more recently - filters.
The app features a collection of 'filters' that you can add to your face. They range from the weird (putting your lips where your eyes should be) to the wonderful (making your face into a pug).
Us normal folks aren't the only people who are completely enamored with Snapchat, though. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid and Chrissy Teigen are all obsessed with the app and frequently post pictures of themselves and their lives.
There's been a lot of talk about using Snapchat filters as makeup inspiration. Most notably, this popped up at Desigual's latest runway show, where models' makeup was inspired by different filters. However, Snapchat filters also lend themselves to fashion, and it's waaaaay more subtle. Because, although these models can pull off a puppy nose, it's perhaps a bit of a bold look for classes.
Look 1: Pink Floral Filter ft. Gigi Hadid
I don't really know what this filter is called/what it's supposed to be, but it's pink and floral so that's what we're running with. Channel the neon-esque vignette with this pink holographic backpack, and of course the flowers with these floral earrings.
Look 2: Gold Butterflies Filter ft. Miranda Kerr
This filter is a firm favorite of most of the celebs who use Snapchat. You'll probably see a lot of people wearing gold headbands and a ton of highlighter for Halloween this year.
To recreate the look yourself, go all out with a gold dress and make sure you remember a gold headband. Extra points for butterfly accessories.
Look 3: "Coachella" Filter ft. Kim Kardashian
This filter is yet another favorite. Flower crowns were a everywhere for a while, but have somewhat faded into obscurity. Snapchat, however, has given them a new lease of life outside of Coachella.
The obvious choice here would be to simply wear a flower crown, but that's too easy. Instead, try these amazing embroidered jeans and a floral top, with some hair slides with floral detail, if you still want to be a punk rocker with flowers in your hair.
