Diane von Furstenberg, known for her iconic and flattering wrap dress, has been a household name since the 1970s, and for good reason! DVF’s Spring 2014 RTW collection was full of fab looks that seemed as if they could be worn to some sort of glamorous safari – and it worked.

Though the collection kept its color palette simple and neutral, it had amazing and original details: pops of orangey-red and gorgeous turquoise, a graphic diamond print, and another print depicting zebras and lions on the savannah.

Are you coveting these DVF outfits, but aren’t as in love with the idea of shelling out some major cash? Keep reading for three wallet-friendly looksinspired by outfits from DVF’s spring collection:

1. As Golden as the Sun

This look is the perfect example of how to mix different textures and materials to amp up an otherwise monochrome look. We love how DVF paired gold leather shorts with a flowy silk blouse to create an effortlessly glam ensemble. The metal detailing on the cross-body bag is a trendy touch, while the animal print wedges add a bit of fierceness.

To recreate this outfit, start with a pair of tailored gold shorts and a breezy tan blouse, then accessorize with a color-blocked bag that has a metal chain and closure detailing. Grab a pair of fab snake print flats that also add a pop of bright color. We think this look would be perfect for an occasion when you want to feel glam and sophisticated yet laid-back and comfy.

2. Lace Me Up

Black-and-white ensembles were all over the spring runways, and DVF's take on this trend is nothing short of amazing. This is probably the most simplistic outfit from the collection, but it still oozes sex appeal. The lace-up crop top was styled with an embossed, knee-length skirt and drool-worthy wedges, and we are definitely having closet envy over this getup!

For a similar look, grab a knee-length white skirt and a crop top with lace-up detailing. This Forever 21 top is made from an edgy faux leather, plus it's on sale for $12! Incorporate some fierce animal print with these snakeskin wedges, then accessorize with a cool arm cuff. Lastly, mimic the model's natural-looking makeup with a rose-hued lipgloss.

3. Tantalizing Turquoise

This final runway outfit proves that maxi dresses are the ultimate summertime statement piece. The turquoise hue of the dress is perfect for warmer weather, while the criss-cross straps add a bit of oomph to an otherwise straightforward look.

For this final recreation, all you need is a chic maxi dress in a bright turquoise shade. We paired the dress with strappy ankle-wrap wedges and turquoise-accented gold jewelry for a boho-inspired touch. We can see this getup working for a glam night out on the town, but if you swap out the wedges for flat sandals, it works for daytime, too.
