For one weekend in the spring, celebrities and fans alike flock to Louisville, Kentucky for an American tradition known as the Kentucky Derby. While Churchill Downs may be famous for horse racing and its legendary winner's circle, the location of the Kentucky Derby is actually a hub for fashion.

Pretty and colorful sundresses are seen amongst the crowd, but the real statement pieces are the large sun hats and fascinators. While some are more conservative than others, the hats are definitely the center of attention. (Aside from the horses, of course!)

While you may not be attending the Derby this year, you can rock a fun springtime look inspired by Kentucky Derby fashion. Below, I've created two different outfits inspired by the Kentucky Derby. Scroll down to see them:

You'll be ready for the winner's circle in this feminine ensemble! Wear a pretty mint sundress with a pair of fun polka dot wedges. Add a pink jeweled statement necklace and oversized sunglasses for a trendy twist. Grab a neutral-tone clutch and put in rose stud earrings, then complete the look with a floppy sun hat -- this would be the perfect girly look for a beautiful spring day.

Off to the Races

Dress, Shoes, Fascinator, Bag, Necklace, Earrings

Whether you're off to watch the races or just out to lunch campus, this look will have you ready to go in style! Wear a pink printed skater dress with a pair of wedges and an envelope clutch. Horseshoe earrings add a fun accent, while a teardrop statement necklace gives a girly appeal. If you want to go all out (maybe for a Derby viewing party?), finish the outfit with a fun feather fascinator.
