Fashion Inspiration: Disney Pixar’s “La Luna”

Quite possibly the cutest and most detailed short of recent Disney Pixar releases, La Luna became a fan favorite when it was first shown as a lead-in to the movie Brave. The story follows a young boy who is set to carry on the family line of work, but in typical Disney Pixar fashion, this family’s particular line of work is far from normal.

Watch a clip of the short film below!

Even the short clip reminds me of why La Luna one of my favorites from Disney Pixar! Featuring everything from utilitarian classics to star motifs, this short is actually a great source of fashion inspiration. Below, I’ve created two looks inspired by the short film La Luna. Scroll down to see them!

Part of the Job

Top, Jeans, Shoes, Hat, Necklace

So your day job may not involve rounding up falling stars, but you can steal the family’s rugged style with a few key pieces. First, grab a classic button-down shirt and a pair of khaki jeans. Next, slip on a pair of combat boots to get an edgy look, and wear a newsboy hat similar to the ones featured in the film. To complete the outfit, rock a cute star necklace that pays tribute to the star motifs!

Shooting Star

Dress, Shoes, Bag, Earrings, Bracelet

Look like a total star in this pretty spring outfit! Start by pairing a star-print dress with some classic beige wedges. Grab a satchel bag and put in earrings featuring anchors for a fun bit of flair. Finish the look off with a bracelet featuring tiny mustaches, like the signature ones featured in the film!

What do you think?

Are you inspired by animated films? Would you wear any of the looks above? Which one is your favorite? Would you like to see more posts like these in the future? Let me know in a comment below!

I really like the first on with the button down blouse and beige jeans and combat boots. I have never really thought of connecting fashion with Disney characters but maybe I will notice it more now

This is really wonderful!! As a computer animation student here in Canada, I rejoice seeing these outfits!! In my field, talking about, studying and working on animation is all we do, so seeing outfits inspired by our favourite Pixar short (Paperman!!!) is just awesome, especially for the few fashionistas of my group! Since I noticed that collegefashion.net was posting animation-inspired outfits, I’ve been sharing them on our facebook group for the ladies to enjoy! And they have!!

Keep up the good work!!! :)
