Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Whitney Port, Cat Deeley, & Eva Longoria Parker
Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Whitney Port, Cat Deeley, and Eva Longoria Parker. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Whitney Port’s Fall-Fabulous Ensemble
Whitney Port was spotted taking the city by storm in a high-waisted maroon skirt, a striped shirt, cropped leather motorcycle jacket, and metallic ankle boots.
Now that it is officially fall, this outfit is a perfect choice. The ensemble incorporates some of this season’s hottest colors, and it’s great for the transitional weather– you may be showing off your legs, but you have the motorcycle jacket to protect you from the crisp air! Also note the proportions in this look– the high waist of the skirt and the cropped length of the jacket both flatter Whitney’s waistline.

Skirt, Top, Jacket, Bag, Shoes
To dress like Whitney, try this maroon drawstring-waist skirt from Urban Outfitters. It may not be suede like Whitney’s, but it still emphasizes your waist and has a more wearable, day-to-day quality to it (although the structured look of the suede on Whitney’s skirt is amazing!). Next, add a crew neck striped shirt – it’s sure to be a staple in your closet, and the 3/4 length sleeves work perfectly with the cropped motorcycle jacket.
To add a little pizzaz to the look, you can accessorize with metallic booties, or if heels aren’t your thing, flats would look just as great. Finally, I am loving the shape of this Proenza-esque leather satchel from Topshop; it has a preppy, collegiate vibe and a detachable and adjustable strap so you can wear it on your shoulder, across your body, or just stick to its top handle.
Look 2: Cat Deeley’s Military Ensemble
Cat Deely, host of So You Think You Can Dance, has a knack for fashion– she is always wearing something stylish, and the look she wore to the Burberry Prorsum show this week was no exception. Dressed in a belted olive military-style jacket with gold buttons, gray skinny pants, black ankle boots, and perfectly tousled hair, Cat was the picture of what’s on trend this fall.

Jacket, Pants, Belt, Bag, Shoes
To emulate Cat’s look, try this wool military coat; there’s nothing better than being warm (thanks to the wool) and looking chic at the same time! Add some skinny gray jeans, and most importantly throw on a belt over the coat to emphasize your waist.
Black ankle booties help to break up the colors in the look and bring out the belt– the ones I chose from Forever 21 have a military-inspired look to them, too. Finally, a satchel works wonderfully with this outfit as well, and the gold detailing on the buckles matches the gold buttons on the coat.
Look 3: Eva’s LBD
Eva Longoria Parker is currently vacationing in Paris, and stepped out looking both classic and sexy in a black, long-sleeve mini dress, black thigh-high boots (with gray socks peeking above), cat-eye sunglasses, and pretty dangling earrings.
Eva’s look flawlessly demonstrates the fashion rule of “show one area of skin at a time;” her legs are on display while everything else is covered up, creating a very balanced silhouette. I think this is generally an important rule to stick to with clothing, so you don’t reveal too much or too little, and always leave something to the imagination!

Dress, Boots, Earrings, Sunglasses, Socks, Tights
To me, this outfit is “ladylike with a twist.” To begin, the plain black dress is the ideal canvas for you to create an array of looks with– here, the accessories bring this look beyond basic.
The cat-eye sunglasses and round earrings with rhinestone detailing add a touch of glamour to the look, while the thigh-high boots, which have become wildly popular in the last year, add sauciness. If you are not comfortable with the added over-the-knee socks, you could simply go without. Alternatively, if you’re in a particularly cold climate, you could try adding some wool-blend gray tights.

I really like Cat’s outfit, although she’s looking really skinny in those jeans! I think Eva’s look is exactly why I don’t wear over the knee sox/boots. She looks like she forgot her pants… You did a good job creating the outfits!

I love your version of Whitney’s outfit! I would love to wear that for a day out with my friends! (: and the motorcycle jacket trend has always been a favorite of mine!

I am in love with all three of these looks! I’m still looking for the perfect motorcycle jacket and a striped boatneck, plus I’m lusting after that color of that skirt. SO all three put together is… amazing.
I’m actually really glad you posted that black dress. I have had a dress very similar to that for probably five years and never know how to wear it! So thanks for the ideas!

I like Cat Deeley’s look – but she’s so tall, I’ve always been scared to follow suit.
I would love to see an article about fashion inspired by Harlequin Romances, lol. Those covers are awesome! Or the covers of any romance novels really. Some are really quite pretty.
