Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Usher, Isla Fisher, and Elizabeth Olsen

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Usher, Isla Fisher, and Elizabeth Olsen. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Usher’s Mixed Prints

So, I may have thrown you guys off with this first choice! Usher? Yes, Usher. Inspiration is everywhere, even in menswear! And I have to say, this week, Usher caught my attention with his brilliant mixing of prints and textures to create a cool, urban look that I thought could be easily translated into a female version.
It’s always good to shake things up, so check out the outfit I’ve created channeling his look, mixing stripes, leopard print, and denim.

Skirt, Top, Jean Top, Heels, Sunglasses
Start off by choosing a striped top with a bit of a twist — Usher’s has a print behind the stripes, and this one boasts a large, bold yellow stripe and a modern design. Pair it with a black, bell-shaped skirt worn high on your waist, and add a denim jacket or shirt for extra dimension. Have fun mixing prints by adding some leopard print shoes or a handbag. (I’m in love with these leopard platform heels!) Finish it all off with some plastic sunglasses in a rectangular shape to keep with the modern look.
Look 2: Isla Fisher’s Modern Prep

Actress Isla Fisher was spotted filming a new movie this past week, and looked super cute in a modern and trendy take on classic prep. She wore skinny jeans with a white blouse, beige blazer, a scarf tied around her neck, ankle boots, and a large weekender bag.
A blazer can make any outfit look instantly chic and put-together, and the neck scarf Isla paired with hers gave the look a prepster vibe. Finally, she added an extra touch of style with her classic leather driving gloves.

Jeans, Blazer, Top, Scarf, Booties, Bag
Isla’s look has a very simple base: It’s just a basic pairing of dark skinny jeans and a white top or blouse. These simple pieces are transformed with the addition of a neutral-colored blazer, some booties, and a scarf tied around your neck. (I chose to leave the driving gloves out for a more practical day-to-day look, but of course, feel free to add some in for extra flair!) A structured bag in olive green works with the neutral color palette and emphasizes the colors of the neck scarf.
Look 3: Elizabeth Olsen’s Hip City Stroll

Elizabeth Olsen proved she has the style gene that her sisters are so famous for while strolling around New York City. She wore skinny-fitting cords, a sheer, breezy shirt, a cropped zipper vest, wool floppy hat, loafers, and a large handbag.
Her look has an androgynous vibe to it which makes it a cool and atypical outfit. I’m envisioning this look as being ideal for checking out a new, hip little coffee spot in my neighborhood… or, of course, just strolling the streets of NYC!

Pants, Shirt, Vest, Hat, Loafers, Bag
Skinny cords are a great alternative to jeans — I know I practically live in skinny jeans, so I am constantly looking to switch things up. Next, a sheer shirt looks classic on top, but the sheerness on the bottom adds a bit of a fun touch. A cropped vest with zipper detailing makes for a hip layer, adding a new element to the look. Accessories should be kept in the neutral color palette as well, but should all have unique details — this bag has a croc print and a vintage-inspired shape, a maroon wool floppy hat also keeps with the vintage vibe, and lace-up loafers add to the hip androgyny.

I really love all the outfits you created. The way you interpreted Usher’s look is so cool. I would not have thought of that. I would have worn a blazer instead of the denim shirt, but the look is definitely urban chic. The 2nd and 3rd looks are both so lovely.

I love Elizabeth Olsen’s look! She reminds me of Diane Keaton in Annie Hall: http://www.moviespad.com/photos/annie-hall-diane-keaton-200c8.jpg
I’d love to try out an androgynous look like that sometime. I think the hat makes it feminine and definitely would work great for spring!
