Celebrity Street Style of the Week: The Best of Coachella 2012

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, celebs flocked to the annual Coachella Music Festival, known for great music and fabulous outfits galore. I was inspired by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jamie Chung, and Nina Dobrev, who were all in attendance. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Classic-Meets-Boho Look

Supermodel and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has a knack for mixing classic and boho pieces to great effect — at Coachella, she wore a classic white button-down shirt with some unique lace-embellished jean shorts. Because the shorts made such a statement, she kept the rest of her look toned down, adding just leather ankle boots, sunglasses, and simple jewelry.

Rosie’s look is all about a pair of statement shorts with bohemian flair. This season, many brands have been creating vintage-inspired shorts with cool touches, like these ones, which have crotchet contrast paneling. They also have a high-waisted fit, making a classic white tie-front button-down shirt the perfect thing to wear up top. Because the shorts are so eye-catching, leave jewelry and accessories to a minimum: A gold cuff bracelet and sunglasses, along with some ankle booties, finish the look off.
Look 2: Jamie Chung’s High-Low Mix

Actress Jamie Chung is always a celeb to watch for trendy outfit inspiration. At Coachella, she mixed uptown and downtown by wearing a dressy metallic maxi skirt and high-end stone statement necklace with casual pieces like a simple black t-shirt, army jacket, and oxford flats. Because Jamie played with varying degrees of dressiness in this look, it became super versatile and perfect for day or night.

Topshop has a metallic pleated skirt that’s quite similar to Jamie’s; though it’s not a maxi skirt, I actually think its shorter length makes it a bit more versatile — for example, you could wear it during the holiday season with tights. A stone statement necklace is another pretty and feminine touch, but is toughened up by the black t-shirt and army jacket. Finish the look with basic oxford flats.
Look 3: Nina Dobrev’s Bold Maxi Dress Look

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, accompanied by her boyfriend and co-star Ian Somerhalder, was all smiles at the Coachella festival. And how could she frown in a bright red maxi dress with an asymmetrical hemline? Wearing bold colors is an instant way to boost your mood. Nina accessorized with a wide brown belt, crossbody bag, Wayfarer sunglasses, and some snake print sandals.

This asymmetrical hem maxi dress makes for a bright and bold look. I’ve been loving all the asymmetrical hem dresses popping up in stores lately – they seem so high-fashion and fresh for spring! While the dress is a statement in itself, Nina didn’t hold back in the accessories department: A wide brown belt, worn at the waist, will flaunt your figure, while dangling earrings and a crossbody satchel lend the look an earthier vibe. Finally, strappy snake print sandals add some pattern to the look.

Rosie’s look is my favorite. I love those shorts with the lace, they are classic and really boho. I can’t resist looks that include a cuff bracelet and white blouse. Add the shades and it’s a look to rock all summer.

Rosie’s look is something I would actually wear more often but I loved Nina Dobrev’s look because, well…it’s Nina Dobrev! :D

I had definitely seen the picture of Nina Dobrev and said I had to have that dress. I went looking for a similar one and could not find it so thanks for helping me! I ordered the dress!

I love Jamie Chung’s outfit, it’s so casual and cute. I have most of the pieces she’s wearing and I have a very similar pair of oxfords like hers from Dirty Laundry. Love them.
Lea
LOVE the lace embellished shorts, feminine and boho all at once. Just bought a pair last week!

Nina Doren has a great look. Rosies outfit ONLY looks good because she is very leggy and amazing looking. The shorts shown in your picture are far cuter then hers. They look like they are too low waisted for the shirt. Jaimie Chungs look is just not good.

Love Dobrev. She is just so cute all of the time! I would be the one to wear the bright colored maxi as well so her style is just screaming my name. Now I just wish I got to go to Coachella…
