Celebrity Street Style of the Week: The Best of Coachella 2012, Part 2

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week is my second and final installment of celebs who attended Coachella Music Festival, known for great music and fabulous outfits galore. I was inspired by Lauren Conrad, Kate Bosworth, and Vanessa Hudgens. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.

Look 1: Lauren Conrad’s Wild Meets Classic Look

Lauren Conrad always keeps her look fresh and classic, but at Coachella, she got into festival mode and spiced things up by rocking a pair of leopard print skinny jeans.

Printed jeans are everywhere this season; I’ve seen animal print versions in stores, but have shied away from them – on the hanger, they look incredibly bold. However, I love how Lauren toned her wild leopard jeans down by pairing them with a white button-down shirt and cozy beige sweater. Her Hunter wellington boots also add a classic touch, making this outfit the perfect compromise between bold and classic.

To get Lauren’s look, find a pair of printed skinny jeans in a soft hue – these gold-toned ones are fashion-forward but not overwhelming. The bold pants look surprisingly good with more classic pieces such as a white button-down shirt (this one has a fun tie-front detail), a long, cozy sweater in a neutral shade, and rain boots in a riding boot style. Keep accessories simple, adding just a simple watch and bracelet — this bracelet says “Lovechild” on it, making it perfect for a music festival!

Look 2: Kate Bosworth’s Festival Fab

Kate Bosworth is a regular at Coachella, and her festival outfits never fail to impress. This year, her best Coachella outfit consisted of a body-hugging floral dress with an oversized army jacket, a western style belt, aviator sunglasses, and some thin necklaces. The whole outfit has such a cool-girl vibe, effortlessly mixing military, western, and feminine styles.

This floral bodycon dress works for a night out, but when worn with casual pieces like an oversized army-style jacket, can also be daytime-appropriate. Hip accessories like aviators, a western-style belt and an arrow necklace add flair. Kate wore Hunter wellies (like Lauren), which looked awesome with the outfit, but if you’re not expecting rainy or muddy conditions, some moccasin booties will work just as well with the look.

Look 3: Vanessa Hudgens’ Flower Child Look

Vanessa Hudgens has embraced a very bohemian aesthetic lately, and where better than Coachella to show off her flower child style? She wore a ruffled floral tube top, jean shorts with a thin brown belt, and some western-style ankle boots, accessorizing with vintage-inspired round sunglasses, necklaces, and a flower headband. When I think of summer music fests, I think of outfits just like this: boho-chic, with minimal fabric to keep you cool in the sun and heat.

Jean shorts with a thin braided belt have a ’60s feel to them, especially when paired with a flowy crop top. I love the texturized fabric and the blue multi-colored hue of this one — it has such a dreamy look. Wear a long geometric necklace, round sunglasses, and a flower headband around your forehead for a hippie look. (This particular headband even has a blue flower to match the top!) Finish with some western style boots like Vanessa’s, though moccasins and sandals would also look great with this outfit.

Love the second look! I feel like Vanessa’s look goes against the idea that you either you show off your legs or your chest/stomach though.

I feel Vanessa Hudgens’ look is unflattering. I’m all for the idea of the style, it just didn’t work for her.

LOVE Kate Bosworth’s look….however, I think Vanessa Hudgens looks a mess

I love Vanessa’s look! Showing skin when your outside all day is not a big deal, plus she does have a long duster cardigan on, this picture just doesn’t show it well. That should have been included in the outfit!

I would totally wear Lauren’s look!

I kind of feel like Vanessa looked like a hot mess at Coachella. I like your interpretation of her look much better than the original! But I personally don’t like the way that shorts look with ankle boots because it cuts my leg up. Which is not great, especially being only 5 foot 3 inches tall!

I like all but vanessa hudgens’, her outfit isn’t flattering and it makes her look a few sizes larger than usual. Lauren Conrad is amazingly dressed as per! :)

I like the elements of Vanessa’s outfit, but I wasn’t enamored with her picture. Probably the angle, but the shorts are not flattering on her. Perhaps if she went with a light weight maxi skirt with the cropped top, it would look a bit better.

I love the first two looks especially Kate Bosworth’s! I feel Vanessa Hudgens outfit would be more flattering if her shorts didn’t reach her bellybutton. Still has potential though. :)

I love the first and second looks, but, as others have commented previously, I feel Vanessa hit off the mark. She showed legs AND stomach, which, as a general rule, is a no. The fact that she wore a duster (which I am not fond of), just tops off for me that I don’t dig the look. However, she does dress very fashion forward and looks beautiful…just maybe not this time. To each their own I suppose! Great post though!

vanessa hudgens would look better with a maxi skirt instead, or a cool tshirt.. and she shouldn’t have pointed out her hips that much!

Gotta stick up for Vanessa a little bit here – I think the picture provided is sort of unflattering and also hides the duster cardigan she has on; if you look at other pics though, the cardigan covers up enough to make this look acceptable (acceptable for an all day outdoor/laid back event, at least). The duster is really what makes the outfit for me though; I agree that without it this look is too much.

I loved the first two outfits, but I don’t really like Vanessa’s outfit. She usually dresses quit well but I believe this time she looks kind of messy and like she’s trying too hard.

I love the first two outfits but not Vanessa. Instead of looking relaxed at a music festival, she looks like she was trying to hard to show off a lot of skin.

i don’t care for Vanessa’s outfit, but honestly, who cares about “fashion rules”? Obviously she likes her outfit, so that’s all that should matter.

A positive and negative for Vanessa. Her look is completely off, shocking b/
c her fashion sense is almost always impeccable !! Buuut she carries it w/ confidence which is key to pulling a different outfit off.

I really like Lauren Conrads, but (suprising myself) Vanessa Hudgens is my favorite! I love the bohemian vibe and I might just have to channel more of that into my summer look ;)
    Great post!

Lauren looks amazing. But the bold pants aren’t really my type. I’d rather try out Kate’s look which is equally chic. And Venessa’s just doesn’t do for me.

I second Paula! All that matters is that Vanessa is comfortable in her own skin and happy with her outfit. Who cares about the rules?

Love Kate’s look but I’m not a fan of Vanessa’s. While I respect her confidence I didn’t find this to be one of the best of coachella outfits
