Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Kaylee DeFer, Ashley Tisdale, & Rihanna
Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Kaylee DeFer, Ashley Tisdale, and Rihanna. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Kaylee DeFer’s Gossip Girl Style

Actress Kaylee DeFer, who plays Ivy on Gossip Girl, was snapped while filming episodes for their upcoming final season. She was dressed in a classically GG outfit, rocking army green skinnies, a slouchy snake print top, a burgundy bag, and some black ankle booties.
While I know summer is still in swing, fall is just around the corner and I like Kaylee’s outfit for when it does cool down. The unusual print of her top, the pop of color that the bag adds, and the overall trendiness of the look make it perfect for fall.
Outfit Inspired by Kaylee
Army green skinnies are a great basic denim alternative, though you could rock your regular blue jeans with this look, too. This slouchy snake print top makes a cool statement, and a red or burgundy bag in an eye-catching shape adds a pop of color.
Many of our Gossip Girl favorites wear sky-high heels on a daily basis, but that’s not always practical in real life. Kaylee’s outfit looks fab with her ankle boots, but flats would look great, too; here I’ve chosen a pair of hidden wedge sneakers, which are a huge trend right now. These grey sneaks give your legs a boost but are a bit more casual and comfortable than stilettos.
Look 2: Ashley Tisdale’s Glam Night Out Look

Ashley Tisdale looked eye-catching while at an event in Hollywood, wearing a metallic mini skirt, a sleeveless white button-up blouse, and a statement necklace, along with a clutch and metallic shoes. I am a fan of Ashley’s dressed-up look: the silver and white combo is classy, but the metallic fabric of the skirt and fab necklace make the ensemble look glitzy and youthful.

Ashley’s look has a classic feel, thanks to the silhouette of the skirt and timeless nature of the blouse, but still appears trendy thanks to its metallic accents. To get Ashley’s ensemble, tuck a white sleeveless button-down blouse into a metallic skater skirt, and button the top all the way up. Then wear a sparkly statement necklace on the outside of the shirt. A little clutch that keeps with the color theme is a good addition to the look, but my favorite accent is this pair of silver platform sandals, which are so unique and add an extra “oomph” to the look.
Look 3: Rihanna’s Military-Inspired Ensemble

Rihanna is never one to fear trying out new looks, and often opts for super bold outfits. This week, she rocked a somewhat more subdued look that still included hints of rockstar flair. She wore some light denim cutoffs, a plain gray tee, an army style parka, a cool Gucci bag with an American flag design, and some killer red heels.

I was drawn to the color scheme of Rihanna’s look; military-inspired styles have been super trendy this season, and the utilitarian jacket, mixed with pops of red, speaks to that trend. Denim cutoffs and a simple gray t-shirt or tank top are transformed by an army green jacket, a vintage-inspired watch, a top handle bag (this one blends khaki, ecru, and red) and red shoes. While Rihanna’s strappy heels make a daring statement, I chose some studded red loafers for a more casual and comfy look.

This is the first time I’ve heard of hidden heel sneakers and I think they’re awesome! They have a casual/urban look but give the characteristic walk of being in heels. Cool! :)
