Celebrity Street Style of the Week: Julianne Hough, Alessandra Ambrosio, & Gwen Stefani

Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Julianne Hough, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Gwen Stefani, who all centered their outfits around bold, printed pieces. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Julianne Hough’s Trendy Camo Pants

Julianne Hough rocked the camouflage skinny jeans trend, making her pants the focus of her outfit. To make camo print look fashion-forward, Julianne paired her pants with trendy pieces like a graphic print t-shirt, a black floppy hat, silver aviators, and black booties.
I love this look for college girls because it’s a simple alternative to regular jeans and a t-shirt– this look will feel just as comfy, (and is just as easy to wear) as your basic jeans-and-tee uniform, but the unexpected print makes it extra trendy and fun.

Don’t let the bold print fool you – camo print skinny jeans are actually surprisingly versatile. For this look, pair them with a simple yet cute graphic print top in a neutral color. (Other ways to wear camo jeans include pairing them with a denim shirt, or with a chunky sweater in a rich color.)
Make this look really stand out by finishing it off with some fun accessories, like a floppy felt hat, a pendant necklace, some silver aviator sunglasses, and some cool black ankle booties.
Look 2: Alessandra Ambrosio’s Walk on the Wild Side

Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio is known for her carefree style, and she didn’t disappoint this week, stepping out in some patterned skinny jeans that put a modern twist on classic zebra print. To balance out the boldness of her jeans, Alessandra kept the rest of her look super neutral, adding a casual gray top and some cool silver sneakers. She kept accessories casual, too, finishing with a slouchy black bag, sunglasses, and a pendant necklace.

Alessandra’s look proves that animal prints don’t always have to be loud and colorful – they can easily be toned down with modern accessories and a neutral color palette.
This outfit is a twist on a classic monochromatic look, in that it is mostly gray, featuring varying shades of the color. The combination of unique high top sneakers, some gray giraffe-print jeans, and a slouchy light gray top creates a look with an almost Scandanavian feel. It’s also very “model-off-duty”.
Look 3: Gwen Stefani has been “Spotted”

Rocker Gwen Stefani also rocked a bold print this week, stepping out in a dotted Michael Kors sweatshirt paired with some army green skinny jeans, black booties, and white plastic sunglasses in a fun shape. Unlike Alessandra and Julianne, who wore their prints on their pants, Gwen went for a printed top and more casual jeans; I like how she mixed black and white with army green, and, of course, that she topped it off with her signature red lipstick!

A black and white dotted top or sweater makes a pair of army green skinny jeans stand out in a crowd. To accessorize, be sure to keep your extras in the same color family – try black ankle boots, a chic bag like this structured white one, and some fun white plastic sunglasses. To make the look a bit more glamorous, go for some red lipstick like Gwen, whether it’s day or night!

This (well, more specifically Alessandra Ambrosio’s look) made me think about how awesome a few looks inspired by Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” would be. There are some great lines from which one can draw fashion inspiration.
